We enjoyed walking around the Aloha Tower Marketplace. It was much less busy than the Ala Moana shopping center, although it would be busier when cruiseships are in port.

There are a number of small shops and restaurants that seem to be geared towards tourists. You won't find a lot of high end shops here, but its a good place to pick up some souvenirs, and some shopkeepers will bargain with you.

I wouldn't spend all day here, but its a nice quiet place to do some shopping and spend a couple hours. The tower itself is rather nice. It's not very tall in terms of towers, but its nice.

It has a low visitor number except for the Hooter's with lots of girls looking to get you inside the Bar. It's like the line of people, mostly men, go towards that corner of this U-shaped complex. Parking was used by the locals who work across the street everyday, so good luck finding a place close to here. Tour buses get front door parking. Not impressed after taking the time to see this tower. A better bet was next door at the Maritime Museum about two blocks away. You can get almost as high up in that tower with the same view.

We stopped here to see the Aloha Tower, which is at the center of this marketplace. Unfortunately the tower was closed due to repairs, but it was worth the trip to see the Marketplace. It's a very pretty, open air shopping area, with a variety of stores, from souvenirs to furniture. There are also several restaurants. We went to Don Ho's grill for lunch, which was very good. It's nice to walk around, with palm trees and metal statues representing Hawaiian culture (e.g. a young girl dressed in traditional garb). It's right by the water as well. A few blocks away is the Iolani palace and other historic places. Although it was smaller, we enjoyed it more than Ala Moana mall.
