Was at pearl harbor all day and it was a very nice tour given by Victoria. A great tour to add to the list of other pieces to see during the pearl harbor.

My husband and I had a fantastic day made even more enjoyable by our tour guide/driver, Tommy Chong, who is a wealth of historical as well as local knowledge. From the moment we boarded our tour bus Tommy engaged our group with humor, story telling, wit and respect for the places we visited.

Pearl Harbor is a must see for those of us who have been lucky enough to not have experienced the horror of war. To walk around this well cared for area and monuments and realise that this is where the world changed; from the sobering moments when we viewed the information movie showing actual footage of the Pearl Harbor bombing, boarding our boat, circling the Arizona, the mix of emotions was enormous. Unfortunately, the Arizona platform is still out of commission. The Pearl Harbor section of the tour was well paced and informative.

Circle Island tour gave us the opportunity to visit many of the island's landmarks. We travelled into the mountains to the Nu'uana Pali Lookout. This is the actual site of the 1795 Battle of Nu'uanu. The view from the lookout is amazing and being on the windward side to the island be careful to hold on to your hats/caps etc.

Our next stop was the Japanese Byodo-in Temple. After crossing the entrance bridge visitors have the opportunity to ring the large temple bell which is said to give peace to your soul. The temple itself is serene and comforting. The temple is surrounded by lush gardens and yet there are areas where you can simply rest and take in the serenity of the area or just relax and watch the Koi carp swim.

Lunch break - and we visited the Kualoa Ranch. The ranch is approx. 4,000 acres and has been featured in many films including Pearl Harbor, Kong - Skull Island and Tears of the Sun to name a few. The stampede scene from Jurassic Park was also filmed here.

Surf's up!! Wow, we visited the surfing beaches I have only ever read about; Sunset, Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay, Shark Cove etc. The surf was moderate and picking up but apparently the big surf only happens in the Hawaiian winter.

Dole Plantation is a working pineapple plantation and as a visitor you have to sample their Pineapple Ice Cream (which is not actually ice cream as there is no dairy products used), it is delicious.

Overall the day was a marvellous success - full of wonderful photo opportunities, amazing scenery and mountains of information. Well done Gray Line and Tommy Chong -Tour Guide extraodinaire.

My wife and I spent the morning at Pearl Harbor. Our ride in on the tour wS entertaining and educational. The Hawaiian islands are truly gorgeous in every way. It is hard to imagine the tragic events that would begin here on that day of infamy. To see the memorials for not only the Arizona, but the Oklahoma and Utah was sobering. The price paid for our freedom is never more apparent than when you see this monument. To follow the tour and listening to the audio commentary by Jamie Lee Curtis was to be drawn rightback to that December 7th. Walking around the museums and paths on a warm sunny day and then to take a boat out to where the Arizona lies is something everyone should do. Follow it up by walking the decks of the great Battleship Missouri. Mighty Mo, thanks for the tour Dan!

If you are staying on Big Island, you are 60 year old and up with walking disability, it's perfect for you...otherwise, stay away of it!! Way to expensive for a bus ride. Because, let's be honest, this is what's all about...a bus ride! Yeah, you cover a lot of ground, but spending 8hrs in a bus to stop(15-20min) at every shop, and not learning a single thing...this is 1996 travel dream! You better get in a Uber and ask the driver to bring you to the must do spot or rent a car and plan it yourself. You will save money, time and have more fun, especially if you are flying from another Island!!

Booked this tour before we even left Australia and after having done the tour, all I can say is 'unbelievable'. Seeing the sites we saw not only at Pearl Harbor but the stops along the way and back were fantastic. It was only made better by our driver/tour guide Kaleo. His commentary and the way he handled a bus full of people was another moment of the tour that I don't think I have experienced anywhere else in the world. This guy is a gem and Polynesian Adventures should be proud of this guy and the efforts he puts in. Not only was Pearl Harbor was fantastic, so to was Kaleo. Mahalo

Several companies offer this tour. We went with Polynesian Adventures Deluxe. We went to the National Cemetery, the USS Missouri and did the Pearl Harbor Tour, which included the museums and the Navy piloted boat trip.

It was a sombering and reflective experience in which I learned a great deal. Most US residents know something about Japan’s sneak attach on Pearl Harbor from school, TV and movies. You learn so much more from going. The Polynesian Adventures tour guide offered information, as well as entertainment.

Do the audio tour at Pearl Harbor to get more information. Even though the dock to the USS Arizona is unsound and you can’t go on the memorial, visiting this place is still very emotional. The fact that the Japanese Navy forgot about the dateline and thought they were attacking on Monday, instead of Sunday, saved our aircraft carriers. The fact that radar was brand new on oahu, yet the radar techs alerted the command about the approaching ships from the west, which our naval leaders mistook as coming from California (which would be from the east) led to our lackadaisical preparation. The attack was on every military installation on Oahu, not just Pearl Harbor and many civilian Oahuan residents lost their lives too. Hearing radio broadcasts and seeing real films was breathtaking.

This is important for every American to see.

What a great moving experience. We had plenty of time to look around, and get a feel of what happened. Extra time due to boats not being able to take you on the harbour cruise (fixed now). Also tours of the Arizona Memorial not available due a H&S issue :(. Tour guides had plenty of information, and really help with the experience

On confirming the Grande Circle Island Tour as required, from the start there was poor communication. We were told to wait outside the main entrance of the Marriott Resort. As tourists we later discovered that there was more than one Marriott and rang back to ask which one and confirmed the right one and pick up time. After waiting 3/4 hour on tour day we rang customer service and told we should have been waiting at the tour lobby entrance instead of the main entrance, so had missed the pick up. We did get asked if all this was explained on confirming along with what tour company to look out for
and the only instruction given was to wait outside the Marriott main entrance. We were fortunate we had a spare day and it was rescheduled for the next day.
However we were disappointed in the following for the tour, the monologue commentary continuously delivered in a monotonous voice, Kualoa Ranch stop not informative, a waste of money and time - looked old and run down, Dole plantation insufficient time to see all that is available there e.g train ride, demonstrations on offer, shop.
Scenery stunning.

Our tour guide Leo was fantastic! It was 140 mile tour of Oahu which included all the picturesque sites. Lunch was at the Kualua Ranch after the tram ride which was not included in original tour but was very good and not too pricey. Leo is well versed on the history and culture of the island since he is native to the land. Recommend definitely to take this tour, but it is a very long day ..9 hours...the tour guide makes it fun and educational. Great experience!
