Wanted a great steak dinner to celebrate our last dinner in Hawaii. Thought the Beachhouse would be the perfect place, but I was wrong. Received Denny's quality food in a pretentious setting. Tasteless Prime Rib, over-cooked creamed spinach, average mashed potatoes, were delivered as if they were culinary masterpieces. My sister said the Panna Cotta tasted like yoghurt. On a high note, the Caesar Salad actually had anchovies. For their sake, I hope that the kitchen was just having a bad night.

All things considered, we had a 2.5 star visit.

The location is absolutely dream-like; the service exceptional; the food is fabulous - ask the chef to prepare your steak "Pittsburgh-style"; and don't forget the creme brulee.

The hotel we were going to stay at overbooked and so when they moved us to a different location we had to change some of our dinner plans, in this case we changed one of our nights to the Beachhouse at the Moana and it was a good thing. Although the prices are a bit steep, the food is very well prepared and the service is great too. We were seated on the lanai and had a great view of the ocean while listening to a live band on one side of us and a piano player on the other. Try the lavender drink, it was the best drink I had all week, delicious!

We only experienced Christmas brunch here, but I can say without a doubt that it was the best, largest, highest quality brunch buffet I have ever seen. The dining room and terrace of the restaurant are beautiful and I imagine would be lovely any time of year.

Better elsewhere but be warned the good places book out early.
Being on the balcony on a balmy night, overlooking the ocean is fantastic, and if you can't get into beachside restaurants like at the Royal Hawaiian or the Outrigger then the Beachhouse is not so bad.
Be warned esp if you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner. We were on the balcony a little too close to the bar. We had three way noise. From the bar, from the grand piano inside and from the outside entertainment. Luckily we were able to move early in our meal.
Food was passable, certainly not memorable and given the location not outrageously expensive.
