Be ready for a large crowds. Also, be ready to eat! Lots of great food/drink items are being sold here. Our group's personal favorites: Fried Green Tomatoes and Fresh lemonade in mason jars. People also were walking around with large coconut drinks, pineapples, etc. The Lemonade was perfect for the hot sun. All in all we had a great time and didn't have to spend much to do so.

The KCC Farmer's Market is a great way to start your Saturday. We got there before 7:30 and it was already crowded. Turned out the market starts at 7:00. A lot of the locals were already leaving with fresh flowers and produce by the time we got there. It looked like there would be no parking but just drive up the hill and you will find parking. This is a real Farmer's Market with local produce and products. If you don't eat breakfast you can eat breakfast here. A lot of the vendors will give samples so you may get full on samples alone. We ended up buying apple bananas, locally made chocolate, honey, and lilikoi butter. Tip - if you use recyclable bags for the grocery store pack them in your luggage and use it at places like this. I'm glad I did as a lot of the locals do so also.

Definitely get there early. There was a great selection of homemade local food. Definitely try the pesto pizza! I had an amazing glass of fresh lemonade (from the stall that sells it in a cup or a big jar). Wish I had been able to fit more food in and try more of the stalls!

Beat the crowds and line by getting there at opening or at least before 9. You can get everything for breakfast/brunch there- local coffee, fresh juices, salad, and lots of ono prepared food. Do a quick walk through to survey what's there then get in line. If you come with a partner, divide and conquer.

By 9, the Japanese tour groups start arriving by the bus full. They are nice and polite and really should be welcomed, it's just the shear numbers that can over crowed the place by 9:30-10.

Lots of local produce for sale. The place is close to Waikiki. Come by bus as parking can be a little tight. I recommend walking- it takes about 15-20 mins from Kapiolani Park.

Also, some great local food at the Fort Ruger Market just around the corner from KCC.

Do you want to see what it's like living in Hawaii and not just being a tourist? Then this is the place to go --- this is where the locals go --- to ship, eat and socialize. One of my favorite places to visit in Hawaii.

Enjoy!
