It is worth the price $25, making a reservation, taking a roundtrip bus ride to the home - was Doris Duke's Honolulu residence. Besides, it is the only way you can see this fantastic place. You meet at the Honolulu Museum of Art to board the bus and return there. Admission to the museum is included and many of us ate lunch there and shopped in the museum store. It is a nice way to spend part of a day learning about this unusual house and the woman who owned it.

“Great little museum for Hawaii”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Recently saw the Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keefe exhibit which focused on Hawaii. If you have never been, there is a nice Japan, China and India collection. They have special collections that rotate and every visit you'll see new things. A very pleasant way to spend an afternoon

“Very nice museum....”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Definitely worth the $10 admission fee despite the fact that the second floor, Hawaiian art area was closed (which they did NOT tell us upon our entrance). The Georgia O'Keefe/Ansel Adams Hawaii exhibit was worth the price of admission alone. The museum is a lovely building with a pretty court yard. We did not eat in the cafe because we had eaten a huge breakfast and were not ready for a meal, but it looked quite nice. This was great respite from the sun. The admission price also includes admission to the Spangler Gallery which is a drive of the Makiki Heights Drive - the grounds were amazing, the art is a little "out there" - all contemporary. Although we loved the XBOX/music exhibit. The drive, the incredible views of Honolulu, the grounds - all great. Plus we love supporting art museums everywhere we go.
