The collections of art are always so well done and are of the highest caliber, however, this is a recommendation to all the military families stationed on the island. Go and take your kids for the culture and the art because from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the museum is free every day with your military ID. A huge thank you to all the museums and monuments across the nation that participate in this service.

Don't miss a trip to the Doris Duke Theater in the back when you are there. This summer they are showing surf movies -- if you want to know what surfing is like without all the skill and paddling, catch a wave there and the old black-and-while Japanese Samurai films were a great reminder of my childhood days watching them on TV.

A small but impressive art museum. We got to spend some time before and after our Shangri La tour at the museum and just loved it. A great way to see some artwork that you would not have otherwise see during your visit to Honolulu.

I liked being able to view the various selections of art. Although it is not a large museum it has a good variety. When done touring the galleries, I like eating at their restaurant.

Had to run through the museum due to short visit but what I saw was well displayed. The contemporary art was mostly mainland American, but different from what you see in mainstream American museums. It was a good selection of paintings and sculpture and had a number of well known local artists' work as well.

I was on the way to Straub Hospital to visit my grandmother when the city bus dropped us right in front the Museum. I was not planning on going in but decided to walk in and look. I was pleased on the admission price for myself and kids and decided to go in. We were captivated with the Art in the Museum. It was very updated and clean. The descriptions and information on the paintings or sculptures were very informative.
