“An Amazing Setting for Art”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

The museum has a respectable permanent collection, including van Gogh, Gauguin, Monet and Picasso. While not large, the setting is unique and really worth a visit. There are several courtyards in the original building interspersed among the galleries.

We visited on the first Wednesday of the month, which happened to be free admission. This includes the Contemporary Museum not far from this location.

“A bunch of things to see”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

This museum has not a bad permanent collection, plus rotating exhibitions as well. Some segments of the architecture there are also of interest. Do not plan too much time to see it, but if you have some free time, make a stop there.

“Nice place to visit...”

… when you sign up for the Shangri-La tour, you get free admission to the museum. It's a spacious, open museum where you can relax in the courtyard or view some of the most spectacular exhibitions!

“Really nice gem!”
Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

I was in Honolulu for a day trip to see Pearl Harbor and thought I'd add this in also. It is a very nice art museum for what I'd expect. The docent who showed me around was knowledgeable and really made the most of my quick tour. You could easily spend hours here, and it's a nice break from the usual touristy places. There is a cafe inside, and a couple of courtyards. Nice collection of Asian art. Also, they do have more contemporary stuff as well as shorter term exhibits. It was $10 to get in.
