Took my parents (celebrating their 50th anniversary) to Oahu for the circle island tour from Kona. It was a great tour. THe Arizona was closed down due to maintenance, but the rest of the tour was great. Booked the entire tour from Kona through the website and it went very well.

This was without a doubt the most memorable day-trip we went on in Hawaii. Our tour guide was Tony, who seriously knew everything about everything. He took us to his house and gave us fruit that he grows himself, as well as other little gifts throughout the trip. Everywhere we went, everyone seemed to know him and be happy to see him. Aside from our amazing guide, we loved walking out on the black sand beach - the view was breathtaking. The Lava Tube was really cool too, lots of good opportunities for pictures. We did get to see some lava flow at night, but it was in the distance.
To sum up - we'd definitely recommend this to anyone!

This is a good trip for the day. The cost includes all admissions to the PCC although the web rate shown does not include taxes which was different than most trips I have taken. It would be good to advertise that taxes have not been included.

The PCC experience was well organized and our tour guide "Happy Pappy" was terrific.

Going to the Farmers' Market in Hilo was not a planned part of the tour, but ended up being one of our favorite things. We got to sample some "unusual" foods, see some beautiful flowers, and spend some time checking out the crafts, all of which were quite enjoyable.
Rainbow Falls was more of a trickle than a waterfall, so that was a bit of a let down. We were also unable to view the Caldera at Volcano National Park, or drive around the rim due to the VOG. I would have to say that we were all a little disappointed with the lava viewing in the evening. While it was neat to see, it was from a much farther distance away than any of us had anticipated or how the website portrayed it. The clubhouse where we ate lunch was not very impressive looking, although the food was pretty good. While the gardens are listed on the tour itinerary, it was more of a "drive-by." I would like to say that the itinerary list makes it seem like you will be doing/seeing more things than you actually are. Several things listed all pertain to the same activity. I would like to say that while the majority of this review sounds somewhat negative, we did have an enjoyable time and our tour guide was great. Be prepared for some rain and cooler weather.

We had an excellent time on this tour. Our tour guide was fantastic and knew lots of facts about Hawaii. We learned so much. We really love nature, so this tour was perfect. The hike was also not too strenuous. They also provide you with a bottle of water and a walking stick, which was great. It was a really great way to get away from the Waikiki toursists and see one of the beautiful sides of Oahu. We will definately use this company to go on a tour again if we come back!
