“Great location”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Stayed here for four nights on our recent Hawaiin holiday. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to everything and the rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. We had an ocean view room on the fifteenth floor, but would have liked to be higher as it was still quite noisy even at this level. We had an issue one night when the people in the room next to us had come back at about midnight and then proceeded to yell, cheer, slam doors and generally be very noisy for about an hour until we complained and security came and asked them to keep it down. All in all quite good value for money in Waikiki and would stay again.

Room Tip: Higher floor. Ocean view on the Diamond Head side of the property, on the corner if possible

Aloha BronwynY and thank you for your review of the Beachcomber! We're glad that you enjoyed your stay. Sorry about the noisy neighbors, but I'm pleased that security was able to resolve the situation. My family and I stayed at this hotel during the last week in August. It was our first time staying at this resort. The bellmen, valet, front desk, guest services, and housekeeping staff were all friendly, welcoming, and kind. The location of this hotel is great since it is walking distance to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Our hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I really enjoyed the balcony with a view of the pool and the city. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the housekeepers - Maricon. She was wonderful and my family and I liked her a lot. I hope to be able to stay here again during my next trip.

Very clean and open rooms. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Overall pretty quiet. Security is on their A game. Housekeeping is also very speedy. I don't recommend eating at the Jimmy Buffet. The bartender there was not friendly and hated living Hawaii and made sure to tell us how miserable it is. Other than that had a great stay!

Aloha AndreaF and thank you for your kind review of the Beachcomber! We appreciate your comments about our clean rooms, and that security and housekeeping are on their "A" game. Sorry about the bartender - can't imagine why he's so miserable, but we'll relay the information to management. Mahalo and we look forward to your return in the future. /Dean

Took our 3 granddaughters over for a week and this hotel was perfectly located to the beach and shopping. Wonderful staff and although a tad on the small size, the rooms were very comfortable. We ate at Jimmy Buffets a couple of times and enjoyed the convenience and variety. Decent prices too for Honolulu. Being from Texas we like our air conditioning and the rooms have motion detection AC-we called the front desk and maintenance was up in 5 minutes and set it to run for us to be comfortable.

Room Tip: Higher rooms seem to be quieter but after a long day at the beach and shopping, we could have slept...

Great location to the beach, international food market and shopping. We came there as part of a softball Triple A group rate and ended up on the 7th floor, I had booked early and was surprised that we didn't have a higher floor (I think I overpaid being inside the group rate, I could have gotten a better room for the same rate had I booked individually). Sure would have been nicer, it was pretty loud the coverband playing and Jimmy Buffets live music but it ended around 11 pm.

Room Tip: Do not book inside of a group rate if you are booking in advance, make your own arrangements, I hear...

Aloha AmySD and thank you for your review of the Beachcomber! We're glad that overall, you enjoyed your stay with us. I'm not clear if you were part of a group or if you booked the AAA rate, but in both cases, rates can be to your advantage. You're right, however, if you're booking one room or two, that rates can fluctuate. Best rates can be found during the non-peak months, primarily September through November and April - May. In any case, next time you return, please send me an email and we'll do our best to get you on a higher floor. Mahalo, Dean.

Conveniently located one street back from the beach (a 2 minute walk) and with some water glimpses. The shops and restaurants are right at your doorstep and there is no shortage of choice. Our room was spacious, clean and well lit and the price was quite reasonable. It was a nice place to escape the touristy hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Free wi-fi was a welcome bonus for a weary traveller wishing to keep in contact with home.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front if you want glimpses of the ocean. Warning - these rooms front the busy...

Reservation and check-in staff, especially Justine, were extremely helpful in arranging adjacent rooms for family members. The valet parking staff was also very patient with our handicapped member.
Our rooms on the 21st floor were clean and quiet; the view was somewhat limited.
