I had a top floor facing beach soy views were good. I could see diamond head and main street. My room had a baday. Room was big enough and clean. Hotel staff was friendly. It costs $30 per day to park car which i thought was a lot considering cost of hotel. Its not free.

There are a lot of places to eat and things to do close by. Beach is about a 3 minute walk from from front of hotel. Its not that close but its ok. No good places to wash up though.

Room Tip: Shop around and bargain with flea market vendors. Start at half what they ask.

My husband and I are just returning from a trip to Hawaii with 2 days at the Holiday Inn and 7 day cruise around the islands.
Honolulu is a very busy place, but everyone from the valet to the restaurant staff have their act together to be able to manage lots of tourist in very timely fashion.
We ate the breakfast buffet which was great and had lunch in JB's We were able to split an appetizer and hamburger with enough food to leave fries behind.
People complain about the cost in Hawaii but we've been to Alaska and found things were more expensive in Alaska. In all reality if you go to Hawaii for vacation and can't afford a $32 food tab for two people with drinks, you don't need to go.

Not a bad location, not on the beach. I reserved an ocean view room, which should have been listed as a partial ocean view room as you can only see a small part of it. Balcony is facing parallel with the beach and the shoreline curves away so you can see a small part of the ocean.

Elevators are HORRIBLE! 4 elevators and you will wait at times longer than 5 minutes to get on one.

I think their beds are pretty average at the most, I don't find them that comfortable and the pillows are not that good either. I hate hotels that say they offer High Speed Internet...it is high speed compared to a 56K modem, but in todays world of technology, it is really SLOW.

They had a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts in the room, which was a nice treat.

There are quite a few restaurants in the area, and Jimmy Buffets is attached to the hotel.

Pool closes pretty early, I want to say it was closing around 6 PM while we were staying there. There was one night it was reserved for a special occasion, but most of the time it is just closed and empty.

The AC unit has two vents in the room on the wall towards the top, it takes a while to cool down the room, and if you open the balcony door the AC turns off to conserve energy.

We were on the 24th floor, and could hear every car that passes by, and all the people yelling, whistling, and music that is happening on the street. So if you are a light sleeper, you might want to pack you some ear plugs.

Parking is 100% Valet only, and it is pricey! I want to say it was $30 dollars for 24 hours. They are fast getting your car if they don't already have a line of people leaving at the same time. Watch the street vendors, some dress to look like they work at the hotel (same clothes style, badges, etc) by the valet parking, but they work for a different "time share company" and they will try and rip you off.

Enjoy Waikiki! There are lots of great street performers at night that make a walk around town worth it!

Room Tip: The Higher the floor the better, better view, less street noise when you are sleeping.

Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort Hotel was very nice. The hotel staff were attentive and helpful. We loved the efficient valet parking. We had a basic king bed room. The linens were very nice and the bed was very comfortable but was nothing special the location however, was. It was right in the middle of the shopping district. All kinds of restaurants and shopping, some of them are beach side making them especially nice.

Room Tip: It would help to get a room with a view.

We stayed here from Feb. 13 -17th, 2013. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and housekeeping very efficient.
The location is great as well. Not far from the beach and on the main strip for shopping. The resturuant "Jimmy Buffets" has good food and service was good aswell. You have to try the "Lava Naucho" but you will need about three other people to help you finish them!!!
Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Try to book a room on a higher floor if possible.

This was the 4th time I have stayed in this hotel and as alway my time spent here was excellent. Sam on the front desk who checked me in was friendly even remembering me from a previous visit. Ocean view room on a high floor with a view to Diamond Head will give you a great view. Remember you get what you pay for in this world.I recommend The Beachcomber to all my family and friends and will be back hopefully in the near future.

I've stayed here before for business, but this trip was with my wife. Some good things going for this hotel. It is located in the middle of the shopping district, and many restaurants nearby, which my wife loved. The staff was friendly. The pool and sun deck was very small and on top of the street, but it had a sun deck. For a larger Holiday Inn there was no concierges room, so being Platinum didn't mean anything here. We reserved an Ocean View room, but when we got there they said they were out of them and put us on the side near the elevators, which you'll want to stay away from. We work out often, and the facility was okay. The escalators were in disrepair and torn apart the whole time we were there, which was a little inconvenient. If you bring your kids you'll want to take the time to figure out their pornography filters. They have the typical LodgeNet set up, but seemed to have subscribed to their advanced porn offering. All and all our stay was okay.

Room Tip: Elevators are loud and run all night, so get as far from them as you can. We could hear them even w...

Aloha dadsthoughts and thank you for your review of the Beachcomber! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our location and friendly staff, but of course, concerned that you did not find our property up to your standards. While we're not able to rectify our pool size and elevator issues, I will look into your LodgeNet concern. I also apologize that the escalator did break down during your stay. I'm confident that we can improve upon your overall experience should you give us another chance - please feel free to reach out to me when you make your next reservation for the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort.
