The mountain view room overlooks a parking lot and bus station. Even at night, and even at the 15th floor the noise from the street are annoying. The windows and the overall room is in serious need of renovation. Everywhere else in the US, this room will be worth less than $100 at night. This is a 2-star hotel.

This is THE place in Honolulu for a great rate; no ridiculous "Resort Fee" nonsense, excellent breakfasts (but Japanese style scrambled eggs are not for everyone); subtle ; informed staff (not brash/in your face), and they cater mainly for the Japanese and Koreans, So this is not the place to be entertained with loud, tacky music for "the tourists", nor is it at the beach front (it is a block away).
But for subtlety and refinement this is it!! Location excellent in the middle of Waikiki...
Reasonable size rooms, clean and comfortable, smallish balconies (go for a deluxe ocean front room...you want to see the beach not some mountain view). Bathrooms smallish but well maintained . Eat at the sister hotel across the street The Halekulani (which is THE hotel in Honolulu by far....)
There is some noise early morning with trash carts emptying at the back of the Sheraton....
but this hotel gets my vote by far...If you want noise, endless movement of people coming and going then there are plenty bright, brash hotels a few yards away...what suits YOU??

Room Tip: Higher floor the better....

Spent one night of our Honeymoon here, the ocean view room is well worth the extra cost. Beautiful views from the balcony and from almost all areas of the room. You can wake up early to catch the surfers, and its a close walk to the beach. The brunch in the hotel is very good and a fair price. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Room Tip: Definitely get ocean view, the views are fabulous!

Enjoyed our stay at the Waikiki Parc.as we visited Waikiki from Aus. Found all the staff very helpful and had no problem at all communicating with the staff.
The breakfast buffet was good albeit not excellent but convenient well cooked and service was good. Out of our 8 day stay we had to wait twice for a table, about 10 mins, which was a first in all our travels for a bfast buffet but not overly concerning.
The location of the Hotel is on block back from the beach and there is a lane out the front which leads straight to it.
The rooms are clean well equipped. The pool is located on the eighth floor it is quite small and get can crowded at times but suffices for a cool dip and a lie around taking a break.
We had a problem whereby a driver for a tour we booked to the Polynesian Cultural Centre could not be bothered getting of his backside and walking 10 metres to state he was there to pick us up and left (only negative experience in Waikiki) and the Manager organised a refund of our tour- goes to show the level of service at the Parc .

Room Tip: Get an ocean view room!!

I dealt with Ryan (manager) over some misinformation provided by the staff about my package. He was great and offered what I believe was fair compensation for the misinformation. My problem is not with him or that incident.

IMO the hotel does not cater to the average mainland tourist. Most of the staff do not speak English effortlessly. They were very nice - but sometimes communication with them in our native language was labored at best. Everything was in Japanese - which is fine as long as you know that is IMO their target audience.

We stayed on the 22nd floor and could not get to sleep at night because of the EXTREMELY loud outside noise. The rooms are fine - but it is not what I would consider a superior oceanfront view room. You have to go out the back door and trudge down an alley to get to the beach. The hotel is actually set back between two other hotels and off the beach. The lobby is not impressive at all. Be aware that when you turn off the Master switch at night - your may have also turned off electric power to your phone/ipad etc and they will not charge.

Breakfast was GREAT and the valet parking was an added bonus. However, I believe that for $400 a night we can find much better next time. We will probably stay at the Sheraton on our next visit.

Room Tip: If you want a really good view with a patio - you would be better off staying someplace else.
