We stayed here overnight after a formal event in Waikiki. The hotel is the oldest in the area and has a great deal of charm. The hotel was originally built in the 1920s so the hotel retains much of the period feel. Each of the room doors is made of solid hardwood with intricate carvings which are beautiful. The rooms themselves are very spacious, with high vaulted ceilings and nice finishes complete the island feel. The bathroom was small, but was nicely done with dark marble floors and a white sink and shower.
The grounds have a lovely garden, very small pool and easily accessible beach access. The hotel is tucked behind one other newer hotels which were obviously built around the Royal Hawaii so you don't see this little gem.
In all we had lovely stay and u would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a little throw back to another island era.More
