We didn't stay here at Royal Hawaiian but we did want to have dinner there. It turned out to be too expensive so we just had a sunset drink and awesome view of Diamond Head. Great location for scenery, but prices to high.

Dear Honolua13,
We're delighted to learn that you enjoyed your visit to our famous Mai Tai Bar. The beach front location is certainly ideal for watching the sunset. Thank you very, very much for taking the time to share your review with us. We hope to welcome you again soon.

The Royal Hawaiian is an older hotel, one of the first ever built on Waikiki, but it manages to have a classic '30s feel without being outdated or rundown. It's a great spot for a romantic getaway, with the beach just a step away. You can't beat a location that lets you walk right onto Waikiki Beach if you turn one way and right onto the great shopping of downtown Waikiki if you turn the other. The rooms are small, and a little bare of furniture, but the overall atmosphere of the hotel is quiet, despite the crowds nearby. The MaiTai bar is a real highlight.

After a hectic 3 days in New York, the Royal Hawaiian was the perfect setting to relax. After a ten hour flight the check-in was quick and we were in rooms in no time. The entrance to the hotel is gorgeous we got the traditional Lei's on entry with the friendliest "Aloha!!".

Our room was small but comfortable and had a fridge in it, you get complimentary water every morning and night with the turn down service. The room was a garden view but when you are out exploring it didn't really matter.

We ate at the surf lanai for breakfast and the service, atmosphere and servers were great and very attentive. We meant to go back but there are so many places to eat that it's best to try others also.

The mai tai bar was really good and the views were amazing, as it is right next to the beach. Ensure to get your complimentary mai tai from here with token you get at check in, yum yum!!

We paid the $50 for the sea front beds and beach umbrella which was well worth it for us. Although the water does come in quite far so choose one of the first beds to avoid having to pick bags up.

The spa is fantastic, well worth a visit.

We will definitely be returning here in the near future.

Always wanted to stay at the pink palace, although I did expect politeness at check-in which was no where to be found. I understand there was 11 of us, 4 adults and 7 kids, and they don't accommodate for more than 5 in a family and lucky we had an older teenager but to have the kids in another room in another wing of the hotel and have the receptionist tell us to be patient...well. And even at breakfast when my husband asked if we could order while the waiter was pouring water into the glass, and for him to respond 'just wait', and knowing we were getting in at 7am and no room, these hotels need to get their act together, no customer service. Wonderful spot, pool very small. Gardens well manicured. Celeb spotted Bill Cosby.

Dear Firstclass_VClan,
Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us at The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort. We truly regret to learn that your arrival and dining experiences were anything less than exceptional. We understand that it is exhausting to travel, let alone travel with 7 children, and we apologize that our front desk ambassadors did not display the warm sense of aloha spirit that you deserved. Typically to have rooms guaranteed prior to our standard 3pm check-in we require a room reservation for the prior evening; if prior evening reservations were not made, we always make our best effort to place early arrival guests in their rooms prior to 3pm, but unfortunately our availability does not always allow early check-in to occur. We apologize that we were unable to do this for your family's early arrival. Moreover, we apologize that your request was not met with the appropriate polite manner in which our ambassadors are trained to use. We apologize that our pool did not meet your expectations and we hope your children were able to enjoy the large pool and water slide that we share with our sister property Sheraton Waikiki; this pool is certainly a favorite for children and teens. Thank you very much for your honest feedback regarding your stay with us. We hope you will considering offering us another opportunity to extend our hospitality to you and your family.
