Stayed here with my wife on our honeymoon and what a highlight it was for us! Such a pleasure to enjoy the Kahala experience. The rooms are exquisite from the bathrooms to the rooms to the views to the amenities. The beach is right on the doorstep of the hotel with fantastic views plus the dolphin lagoon in the center of the hotel is a must see!!! You cant go wrong at the Kahala. If you're looking for serenity, peace, and place away from the bustle of Waikiki then come to Kahala and let them take you away to Paradise :)

Loved the Kahala. We arrived at 12;30 p.m. and our room was ready. Stayed for 2 nights in a partial oceanview on 5th floor. Had a really nice view of ocean, Koko head and right below us was a beautiful waterfall and golf course. Room was very clean, bed was outstanding and loved the large bathroom and turndown service. Staff was very friendly, especially front desk personnel. They informed us we could stay till 2 p.m. on our last day, but we were leaving early to go to Pearl Harbor. Breakfast buffet was delicious with great views of the ocean and lovely grounds. Loved the beach and had a great lunch at the Seaside Grill. My only disappointment was my salmon at Hoku's. The food was presented well but had no flavor. DH's appetizer and entree was good though. Would definetly stay again but for longer than 2 nights. Loved the location too! Went to Waikiki for dinner; streets were very crowded but had no problem getting a table. Climbed Diamond Head; great views at top. Went kayaking in Kailua and saw a sea turtle swimming right next to us by Lanika beach; very cool. Also spent the day at Pearl Harbor which was the main reason we went to Honolulu on our way to Maui and was the highlight of our trip. We arrived at 10:00 and were on the 11:00 a.m. shuttle to Arizona. Also toured the Bowfin and Missouri; It was an amazing experience.

Room Tip: Book on hotel's website for great deals and preferences.

We became husband and wife at the Kahala in Sept 2011 and chose the Kahala for our dream Hawaiian wedding.

The service recieved from Jasmine Kim and Grace Chan who organised our wedding was outstanding. The ceremony location at Diamond head gazebo was wonderful and the entire Kahala experience was a pleasure.

We had spent a year planning the wedding details with Grace and Jasmine, and we are very happy it all came together so perfectly. Thank you!!

In regards to the hotel, the Beach and fish/dolphin lagoons are very pretty, and the Kahala rooms are charming. We had a few family members stay in different rooms in the hotel and could see the different room possibilities. The Suite we had was large and accommodating with a kitchenette, big bathroom, seperate lounge room and powder room with seperate toilets. Very nice view too. Always cleaned perfectly and full of amenities. Our families stayed in Golf course view (basic) rooms which turned out probabaly the perfect pick for most people staying at the Kahala. The view is still very interesting and considering you would probably spend most of your time staying on the beach and looking at the ocean in Hawaii anyway, its nice to have a different outlook in your room.

Overall, beautiful, luxury, quiet, stunning hotel! One of the best

My wife also thinks the breakfast buffet was the best she ever had!

Room Tip: Larger Suites are a good option, otherwise go for a simple golf course view room, which is very nice...

We stayed here for 4 nights in June through a promotion from RueLaLa.com that included rental car and breakfasts. The package deal, made the stay incredible for us as otherwise we would not have been able to afford the Kahala resonably. Our room was beautiful and clean. We had a great view of the neighboring golf course, and the room had a balcony we could sit on as well. The staff was knowledgeable and polite. The food was good. The beaches were gorgeous! We would definitely stay here again. The only annoying thing was that internet access was not included. At this point, I feel internet access is expected, particularly at a luxury hotel.

It was concerning to read your comments and I am pleased that we resolved the issues with you personally. As a matter of interest, our guest rooms are some of the largest on Oahu, and I am delighted that a more suitable room was available for you. I trust you will be comfortable for the remainder of your stay. Best regards.

We just left the Kahala after a 7 nights stay. We were very happy with the whole experience, from the friendly, understated services of the personell, to the quiet, elegant, gorgeous rooms, to the intimate beach, to the location, etc.

We traveled with a toddler with food allergies and were quite distressed about what were we going to feed him. It turned out that we were to be treated like royalty at this hotel, where the consierge, Geraldine, arranged with the amazing Chef Greg, to make all 4 meals for our child, every day, even pack picknics for us when we went in longer excurssions. Not only did he make the menu for our toddler every day, but he made sure it looked and it tasted amazing I have never heard my son ask for food until now, when he would be so eager to eat and eat everything. Chef Greg made the food with flaire and child size portions and the cost was very small. He ate like a pro, I cannot believe that my child loves food to tis degree until now!

We had the suite with side ocean view, but it was really amazing full view from one of the windows, side from the lanai and gorgeaus, private, mountain view from the bedroom. The suite was very handy, with ample storage and very quiet and private, we had the last room on the corner, 512, amazing room. Outside our room was another balcony overlooking the dolpihin pools, thenocean and the rest. One coud also see the dolphins from our room, as well as a cascade...

Service was impecable, and not due to generous tipping, my husband is a bit of a scruge when it comes to tips, but rather due to the wonderful staff, from valets, to amazing cousierge Geraldine, to room maids.

Aside from helping us with our son's food, the hotel has 3 restaurants and the breakfast is served in one of them. With the suite you really get a lot of benefits, like full breakfast inckuded, internet, and so many more services. We were happy with breakfast selections and location. Dinner was veryngood at Hoku, Japanese faire, and faire at Plumeria, the menu was the same for the whole time, the sea food buffet was Japanese faire heavy.

The beach was lovely for us with a small child, no waves and deep water. There is a pool, we did not really use it as we are not pool people.

We found the overall hotel lovely, romantic and quiet. We are now at the Four Seasons in Maui, and regret not being at the Kahala. Yes, the hotel is a little old, its showing its age in small ways, but its beautiful, comfortable and warm. In contrast to it, the new, big, showy Four Seasons is like an institution, alienating almost and by far not as warm and friendly and lovely.

We were looking for a place that is clean, comfortable, friendly, quiet, romatic, and we found it at the Kahala. Whole Foods is 2 miles way and that too helpsmif you have certain needs. We most definetly will be back, and we hope that Geraldine and Chef Greg are going to be there when we return, people like them make the whole experience shine. Mahalo Kahala. We miss you already!

Room Tip: if you have food allergies, talk to the consierge and chef, they are amazing. we wasted 3 days tryin...

In short, excellent.

I stayed at The Kahala the last week of September 2011. I had a Beach Front Lanai (balcony) room. Large room that, with the French doors leading into a large bath, had the feel of a suite. Well appointed room. Wonderful view directly of the ocean. Service was excellent. The maid staff quickly adjusted to my schedule and often had my room serviced by the time I returned from breakfast. Very good turndown service, often by the time I returned from the beach. Best front desk service I have ever received, both on arrival and when I had questions during the stay. The room has a small fridge that you can have the hotel stock or stock yourself. Here is my tip....have the taxi driver stop by local favorite Tamura's before you arrive so you can stock up on good local rum, good wines, good cheese and selections from their deli, including sushi and kimchi, for your fridge. My room came with a covered cabana on the beach for the week, so there was no rush to the beach early. The breakfast was quite good every morning. I had room service a couple of times and it was very, very good. There are at least two restaurants with fresh sushi on the property. Tokyo Tokyo had wonderful sushi. The room has a safe larger than most hotels (with a six digit code), large enough to safely store an iPad (or perhaps some laptops if you take it out of the bag). The business center has both a large screen iMac as well as a PC and the attendant was very helpful when I had a small project I needed to quickly complete. The dolphins were wonderful. The pool is small. The bar staff was excellent. The bar should have some local rums. Another tip...if you like snorkeling, bring your own mask, snorkel, fins and enjoy some snorkeling on the small reef just off the beach....during the mornings I saw some nice yellow and black striped angel fish. If you have a family with small children and are looking for a cheap deal, this is not the place for you. Everything is expensive....but it was well worth it.
