This is a longer hike than anticipated, the ground is uneven and the steps are steep. 720ft up in a mile! Difficult if you have to carry a child.

The crater is nice but it was extremely hot when we got there. No parking and you have to get to the place early to avoid summer crowds. It’s not bad but if the skies are not clear don’t bother.

The hike up is definitely harder than the website makes it out to be. We saw several people have to turn around because they could not make it up. There are concrete walls, mountain/rocky paths, stairs and a tunnel walk through. Make sure you carry some water, and prepare to sweat. Once you get to the top, you will realize that the hard work was worth it. The views are absolutely incredible!

This hike is not for those who struggle with knee, breathing or leg issues. Minimal shade, lots of stairs and switchbacks along the side of the mountain. On the plus side the views are spectacular, go early as the crowds and the heat can definitely put a damper on your experience. Would def recommend to get a guide if you want a history lesson to go along with it (we opted not to) overall one of the more popular hikes

The hike is not long but it is pretty much straight up with a lot of stairs. Parking was full at 8:30 AM but turned over quickly so we had a minimal wait. Views are spectacular.
