If you hike often, you'll find this a fairly easy hike. However, VERY rewarding. The views are amazing. A "must do" while in Waikiki. Depending on the crowd, should take 1 to 2 hours to hike up and back.

This is a slight hill hike up a smaller mountain to get to a great view- The hike was done by travelers in sneakers and even sandals and of all ages. It was slightly crowded as it is an easier hike up a gravel wider path. At the top you had to slide through a smaller concrete type opening to get to the best views. Great pictures from the top of the entire island and even crystal blue waters with a lighthouse! Bring water as it is hot while walking. There are bathrooms and convenience food trucks at bottom of hill. Nice park for families!

The climb itself is doable, people of every age were on the path. Walking shoes or good trainers would be advisable since the path isn't tarmacked all the way. I actually hiked from my hotel in Waikiki, into the crater and then back round the other side of Diamond head, a good way to extend the hike if you're looking for something more hike worthy, and a great way to see some real Hawaii outside of Waikiki. The views from inside the crater and the top of the edge were great, really gives the scale of the volcanoes that formed Hawaii. Enjoyable.

This is pretty much a required activity for anyone who visits Waikiki. Diamond Head is the iconic volcanic crater you'll see in most post cards of Waikiki. It's an easy hike for families and offers spectacular 360 degree views of the city, the mountains, and of course the Pacific Ocean.

It is really exciting climb the mountain to the top. Take a bottle of water, tennis shoes, light clothes and go up almost 2 hours to reach the top. But worthwhile cos the sightseen is fantastic. Don't forget your cap.
