Went early (6:30am) to beat the crowds and catch the sunrise halfway up, amazing views! Bring water and shoes with a good grip, saw some people attempt this in sliders, terrain is rough in patches!

Worth the climb. A little difficult with uneven track to be negotiated.
View from the top well worth the effort.

We enjoyed this quick and easy hike very much. We also enjoyed the history of Diamond Head. It was strangely mysterious and very beautiful. It is better to find parking on the street outside the park and walk in. If not go later in the afternoon. Otherwise you could be waiting a long time just to park.

Go at sunrise - you won't regret it. The views are incredible. However, it was very busy with many tour buses arriving for sunrise, so try and get there before 6am (when the gates open)!

Caught the number 23 public bus from just along outside the Ilikai at 9am up to diamond head $5.50 one way pp or 11 for an all day pass. Bus does not give change fyi. Its $21 for an uber also from ilikai to diamond head or the green trolley does a tour trip up for $25 pp and you can catch it back for $10pp if you like once you are there. Arrived round half 9 and set off up the track it was busy single file up most of the way took round 45 minutes to an hour as there were alot of people however on less busy days coukd easily do in 30mins. Its a fairly easy track for all ages uneven terrain though and 99 steps at one stage but you can avoid these and go another way if needed. Amazing views well worth the trip up. Need sports shoes for the walk and a hat is a good idea and sunscreen.

If you want to look out over Oahu this is a must do. Make sure to take a bottle of water with you. You can Uber or do a tour. About a half hour climb. Awesome views from the top.

The stairs were a little tough but most of the hike was easy.

It is a busy area and they sell shave ice, pineapple drinks, and smoothies at the bottom.

It is a great way to get some nature in while staying in a city.

My wife and I hiked up to the lookout at Diamond Head about 750 feet up. Just in case your interested, we are 65 years old and moderately overweight. She had a knee replacement 6 months ago and we did just fine. The trail is quite rough in places and unimproved. Take your time and it is worth the spectacular views.

This was our second booking with Kelly. We enjoyed the Foodie tour so much we looked for another tour he offered and booked. What a challenge to bike up to Diamond Head, then hike up to the top of the mountain. The view was spectacular and the hike was very challenging, but we were sure glad we did it. Afterwards, we went to have lunch at another local place that was so good...we went back ourselves before we left. Super tour.
