It is a hike that requires a certain level of agility and energy, but if you have it, do it. The view is breathtaking and it's a great way to get some exercise while on vacation.

This provides the most amazing view in Oahu. It's a quick hike, but bring water. Also the earlier you go the less crowded it will be and you'll beat the heat. Anyone can make this climb. I've done it a few times and seen grandmas and kids do it. I've hiked it in flip flops, although sneakers are recommended for those that have soft feet. It's amazing views.

When there is no breeze, there are tons of mosquitos toward the top. Good and solid trail/stairs to the top. Excellent views!

Diamond Head Trail is located close to where we are staying in Oahu and we were excited to see the view from the top as we'd read many great reviews. We arrived around 0745 on a Sunday morning land there were plenty of people on the trail already. This hike is has minimal incline due to the many switch backs but it is uneven once you are past the paved portion. There are a few sets of steep stairs that you may want to take your time at. This trail could be what you make it from a difficulty perspective but be aware that there are a lot of tourists and families so if you are looking to run it, you might want to get there as soon as the trail opens at 6am. Overall, a good family hike with nice views from the top but my family preferred the views from Koko Head Crater even more.

There are a lot of stairs and it is hard to climb them. But when you get to the top the view is beautiful. Well worth the climb.
