great experience! its a easy hike (1 to 2 hours) to the top of the crater, where you get the chance to see an amazing view of waikiki/honolulu. There's a entrance fee of 5$ per car, or 1$ per person, diamond head can be reach easily with TheBus (truly the best bus transportation system I have experienced). Bathroom are available at the beginning of the hike, same for vending machine. Personal tip: the park opens around 6am, get there early to have a less crowded experience and a better view

This is a must do! Take a bottle of water and take your time and take your camera! You can take the city bus to get there. we took a taxi back to our Hotel "The Grand Waikikian" and it only cost $16.00 for 4 people. Go in the morning when it is cooler.

Awesome!!! We did the whole hike, not bad at all, it is strenuous but if you take your time, it's well worth the hike! The view from the top was amazing, we even took the old stairs to the top, which was the hardest part but at least we can say we did it. There is a spiral stair case and bunker it goes through to get to the top which was cool!
The path ways up were easy to walk, the tunnel was very cool, if you don't like dark tunnels, this may be tough for you, but you have to do it, so you can say I hiked diamond head!! No gift shop on site but there was a unsolicited seller selling certificates that you climbed diamond head, and a guy on top selling tours for 45.00 bucks, otherwise all natural surroundings and the views breathtaking!!!

The hike was moderate and well-defined. Very crowded however. Plan to hike this before 11 AM to avoid crowds.

We did the hike the last day of our trip and it was a whole lot of fun. It is not as strenuous as one might think, people of all ages were participating and enjoying it. The views are amazing and there are plenty of photo ops to get the best views of Honolulu.
