Awesome hike to the top....steep, but not a long climb. The view of the whole stretch of Waikiki from the top made me feel the whole climb was really worth it!

The climb up to diamond head was amazing... I actually was not feeling well and had to take a few breaks along the way...but I am glad that I took the climb. The climb is rocky and uneven but if you just be careful and take your time you will be fine... The view from the top is just breath-taking...be sure to get someone to take your picture!

Beautiful! Breathtaking views! Rent a car and drive around the island. That was my fav day of our trip. If you don't leave Waikiki beach area you will miss all of the amazing views and breathtaking scenery.

We loved hiking Diamond Head. It was a beautiful hike, with a beautiful view at the top, and where else can you have such a rewarding tour of a giant crater? You will get the most incredible pictures on a clear day. But I have to say I felt terribly sorry for the folks who showed up ill-prepared, ie. trying to hike in flip flops, carrying kids, etc. It's an awesome hike if you're wearing sneakers and not carrying a bunch of stuff... just realize in advance the terrain is rough in parts, with ruts and bumps and mildly steep inclines here and there. At the top, there is a very steep set of stairs and a punishing spiral staircase -- if you can't handle those, there is an alternate route that's much easier to navigate, but it's still going to be a decent climb. Definitely include this on your list of must-see sights in Hawaii... it was one of my absolute favorites on our trip.

If you want a quiet morning with a splendid view of the city and ocean, head for the Round Top Forest Reserve, there is a sheltered overlook and most probably you will be there by yourself.
