During a recent visit to Honolulu with our granddaughter we went to the USS Missouri Memorial. She’s studying WWII in school, so this was a very educational experience for her. She was able to learn about and see where history was made! It’s one thing to read about it, but on the Memorial, you can see and touch where it actually happened. The Missouri is a great Memorial, and very informative. I’d highly recommend it!!

Did the Pearl Harbor tour of Arizona memorial and Missouri. Unfortunately we could not get on the Arizona memorial as the dock is being repaired but did spend 2 hours on the Missouri. My family really enjoyed this and was one of the most memorable days they had

I’m a big history buff, especially things pertaining to WWII, so there was no way I could visit Hawaii and not go see ‘The Mighty MO’. This ship is massive and awe-inspiring in every way, the main guns are SICK; they can hurl shells that weigh as much as a Volkswagen over 20 miles! I actually learned something on the tour; the reason the guns are turned perpendicular to the ship when firing is because the concussion would tear the forward and rear decks right off! You’re allowed to wander through the ship on your own; there are green arrows indicating where to go, and you really get to see a lot...it’s mind boggling! But the biggest thrill was standing on the very spot where the deadliest conflict in human history officially ended. The Battleship Arizona rests at the bottom of the harbor just a stone’s cast away, which is why these two memorials are referred to as ‘bookends’...the begInning and the end of WWII for the USA is represented right there. I highly recommend paying a visit and respects to The Mighty MO.

Walking around the rooms on the lower decks was very interesting, learning about the way of life for navy personnel on the ship. Make sure you have a bit of time since it takes a while to explore everything in the ship.

As part of the Pearl Harbour day, also took in a trip to the Missouri. Did a guided tour on the ship which was very informative and the ship was also fantastic. Recommend.
