“USS Missouri - Historic Battleship - Fantastic!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2010

USS Missouri Battleship Tour – Departing from USS Arizona Memorial Parking Lot – To Ford Island – A must see while you are visiting Oahu / Pearl Harbor. Puchase tickets at the booth located next to the USS Arizona Memorial. You begin your visit with a short bus ride to nearby Ford Island. There you will be dropped off at the USS Missouri for part self guided, part docent led tour of the battleship. There is a fair amount of walking and the weather can be warm. Dress accordingly.

There is a huge amount of history behind this ship and you will see where the documents and ceremony was held that ended World War II. You can see the huge guns and learm more about the armament and how it was advantages in its involvement with the Japanese in WW II. This is a fantastic tour of one of the only a few remaining battleships still around.

“Take the tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2010

What a fantastic tour! My 8-year-old was captivated, and I learned so much from our tour guide. As horrible as the war was, the tour guide made it seem realistic and interesting to us, from the half of the Kamakazi fighter that ended up on the ship to seeing where the treaty was signed. Don't miss this if visiting Honolulu!

I was lucky to be able to see the Mo, on Saturday the 16h before the grand opening. The guide is a very fine man. Spend the money for the full tour.

“I know it's not the free tour but do it anyways!”

Okay so when you go, first of all, you need a whole day to do both the Arizona and the Missouri b/c they have set times for the Arizona (something I wish we knew ahead of time....). Everyone is inclined to skip the Missouri b/c it's expensive but you can get coupons BOGO (in the Entertainment book for Hawaii is one place) and it's well worth it to see such a historical ship... not to mention you can tour the entire inside and if you've never done it (and even if you have... I've been inside half a dozen naval ships)... it's a must do.
We also really enjoyed the headset tour for an extra $7 - gave technical explainations and real-life testimonials you wouldn't have had a clue about otherwise.

“Take guided tour.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2009

When you go to Pearl Harbor be sure to have enough time to see the USS Missouri battleship. I highly reccomend going on a guided tour of the ship. You can do a self guided tour, but the ship is so big that you can almost get lost in it. Besides, the tour guides know so much about the ship and are happy to share information. A great learning experience. Toby, was our tour guide. He had worked aboard the Missouri as the personal aid to the captain. He did a great job leading us around and telling us about the ship. The tour lasts about one hour , but also budget some time to look around the ship aftter the tour is over. You can go to some of the higher levels and have great views as well as to take pictures.
