Definitely something you want to go see if you are in the area. There is so much history in this little area and its amazing to see how we have survived and what's become of the location.

This was our third visit to Pearl City and as usual it was amazing. Get there early to get your free tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial. Easy to spend a day there walking around, visiting the museums and walking around. You need to check your bags, but can carry in your wallet, camera and water bottle. Lots of walking, plenty of benches, bring sunscreen and wear a hat. The audio tour is only $7.50 and worth every penny. Please just be careful and try not to walk into people not wearing audio tour and who are moving at their own pace.

We were very lucky the day we were there, we had the honor of meeting Herb Weatherwax, a survivor who is there 3 days a week as a volunteer guide. It was incredibly emotional to meet and speak with him about that day. My son was amazed and we were able to get pictures of them together. We were also able to meet two civilian survivors as well. It was an incredible day.

We had a hot tip to take the 22 bus out to Pearl Harbour which only cost us 2.50 each way. We'd also been told that we should pre-purchase our tour through an operator by our hotel concierge. The reason being that they only issue a certain number of free tickets are given for public sale and if we did want to do it on our own that we would have to go out super early. We went out and arrived at about 1245 and managed to get 3 tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial at 1320. The movie that they play before you head out to the memorial is fantastic and gives you a really good idea of what happened and why. The memorial itself is fantastic, I love that it's over an actual sunken ship and it is very fitting. Pearl Harbour itself is a very well put together memorial, some great history about the world wars and why the whole Peral Harbour event happened. Excellent.

I read the history, I saw the movies, I heard about it but when I was actually there, I felt the pain of all the people and their families who got hurt and I couldn't believe that I was able to be a part of the history

The audio tour is definitely worth it. Reserved our tickets online before travelling to ensure we could go over. Lots of information about the attack on the island (not just Pearl Harbor). Excellent tour at no cost!
