Be sure to buy your tickets to see the USS Arizona in advance. They are sold out by the time you get there.

You can't come to Oahu and not visit the Pearl Harbour Memorial Site. The attraction has many parts to it and I would highly recommend joining a guided tour - both to get the whole history behind this terrible event and to get priority access to the different attractions. If you come by yourself, then come early in the morning, line up and HOPE you get a ticket. Then get the audio tour to guide yourself through the exhibits. Bring your kids, it is a very important part of history that they should all learn. We brought our 16 year old AND my parents - our 16 year old was really moved after learning the story behind the Japanese attack and she even said that "this is the way everyone should learn history" - by visiting the actual sites! To make it even more special, my parents were there to fill in the gaps and tell their personal stories behind the Japanese invasion of China and the events of Pearl Harbour - a real live history lesson that our daughter will remember forever!

Tried to book a tour to have a look around the site, but booked out. Still worth just wandering around, there's still plenty to see and read about the history. Don't take a bag with you, you'll have to pay to have it put in a locker when you get there.
