A lot to see on land before the boat ride. The museum and movie tells you of the tragedy of that day, setting the tone for a moving, somber experience on the memorial itself. It can be a bit crowded. There are NO bags allowed, not even a camera bag. You can check them, but its not like putting them in a locker, you hand it to someone to check.

We visited the pearl harbour exhibits on the 21st October 2013, the tickets are bookable on line or on a first come first served basis at the centre, a memorial that is defiantly not to be missed. There are also several other exhibits to see at the same time.

Always a moving experience. We were fortunate to be there before the government shutdown. What a shame to deny access to such an important, reverent and historic memorial.

a not to be missed site in HNL. it is superbly and efficiently run and the movie before the trip is terrific. the memorial itself is awesome and so poignant, a gorgeous and fitting tribute to the men who lost their lives that day and even those survivors who have now passed on. this watery grave is like no other as it is the hallmark of the remembrance of a terrible event in US history. it certainly is up there with the cemeteries in Normandy and Ground Zero in NYC. Don't miss this!

We've gone several times and it's so moving and worthwhile. This past trip we had my cousins with us and that was the main reason they met us in Oahu ... so he could see this. I had read that you had get your passes ahead to be sure you didn't just stand in line only to be disappointed since they had lessened the number of tours due to Government cut backs. So, I had everything in order and we got up in plenty of time to be there by 10:00 to pick up our tickets for our 11:00 tour only to find when we arrived that the Government had shut down over night and it was closed! Such a shame! We did the National Memorial Cemetery instead that day. Highly recommend taking the time to see if when you got to Oahu!
