Loved viewing this place, especially after watching the movie that fills in the blanks the History books leave out. Touching and Heroic.

Although still unable to get off the boat onto the memorial itself, the boat ride around the memorial by navy servicemen is moving. You are given numerous views and they ensure everyone from every seat gets a good up close view of the memorial. Staff throughout are helpful and there to make sure you get the most of your visit. We arrived at 7:15 and got 7:45 tickets the day of.

Unfortunately, due to damage at the landing site, we weren't able to actually go onto the memorial itself but had a boat tour around. Disappointing but stll very moving.

Was kinda nice to go out in the boat, but couldn't really see anything as the memorial was under repair, would have been nice to know this beforehand

This is a must see on your list of to dos. Until March 2019 you cannot get on but must ride a boat around it due to construction to fix a crack in the foundation of the walkway

This was really good. Did not give enough time to view all the displays on the grounds. The Arizona was closed due to repairs but the Sailors on the boat gave ample opportunity to all to take pictures from both sides of the boat. The tour around Punchbowl and downtown Honolulu, wished we could get off the bus for some photos. The driver Ted was very personable and funny. Enjoyed the day with him.

My wife and I visited the USS Arizona Memorial knowing that the platform was being repaired. We were on the Saturday October 20th, 2018 12:00 tour. We watched the movie which provided details of the day. After the movie we boarded a Navy boat captained by a young sailor in uniform. He explained what we were going to see and at that point punched the big diesel engines into action. The boat only went at full forward and full reverse speeds. It was noisy, jerky and felt it was very disrespectful to the fallen. We did not stop or pause and there was no moment of silence. The captain had a mission which was executed poorly. I hope he is made aware so this will be corrected on future tours.

This is a must do visit when in Oahu. The Museum has real footage from that horrific event, history of what led up to it; and, the Arizona Memorial is a moving tribute and reminder of what we pray will never be repeated.

Unfortunately, the boarding dock at the memorial is out of commission so you don’t get to enter the memorial. I don’t believe this is well advertised, as I wasn’t aware of this until about to board the boat.

The USN still take you across from the park, but instead of dropping you off on the memorial they do a couple of runs past at about 100’.

Not sure how to find out when it will be fixed, but apparently it has already been some weeks.

Although the entrance to the Memorial is under reconstruction and prevented us from onboarding, our tour guide shared the rich and somber history of this incredible site. Definitely worth the visit.
