A wonderful way to spend a day! We spent the entire day visiting the USS Missouri, Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin and the museums. Don't forget the sunscreen and arrive early to get tickets to the Arizona Memorial. We arrived at 9:30am and our tickets were for last departure of the day.

My husband is an avid WWII history buff, and had always wanted to visit the USS Arizona Memorial. We finally had the opportunity while visiting Hawaii with our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter.
The two of us arrived at the Park, and got tickets (there is no charge, but you must have tickets because there is always a long waiting line.) You can make reservations on-line, however, and there is a slight fee for that.
While waiting for the boat to take us out to the Memorial, we had time to contemplate the horrors of that fateful day.
After arriving at the Memorial, there is a talk about the battle and the devastation it caused. It is quite a history lesson, and for anyone not too familiar with December 7, 1941, the horror will stay with you for a long time.
Following the talk, we read all the names of those who lost their lives, and watched as the oil still seeped from beneath the Memorial. Silence prevails.
It was an honor to visit those interred here.
It reminds us how delicate freedom is, and how so many lost their lives fighting for it.

The movie before seeing the sunke ship was very good.
There were WWII vets that had been stationed in Pearl Harbor, there signing books. The 8 year old grandson was very impreswsed. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The bus tour didn't allow much time for the other ships, ammo, etc. but it was well worth the time we did have.

This was a great treat to see and be educated about the history and the details were excellent. A must see if you have ever had anyone in the service.

Very inspiring visit, the fuel is still leaking from the boilers 71 years later!
