“A place of introspection”
Reviewed February 5, 2012

My second visit, the first was 24 years ago. For me it put the human cost government policies into perspective. The addition of BB63 - the Missouri, are tangible objects linking the start and end of the WWII in the Pacific.

The tour of the memorial is free but buying the combo ticket for the Bowfin, Pacific Air Museum and Battle ship Missouri is recommended

“Very well done exhibits”
Reviewed February 5, 2012

I visited 24 years ago and was very pleasantly surprised by the improvements that have been made in the interim. The audiovisual presentation prior to the trip to the Arizona was very well done and informative. I was also pleased to hear the conciliatory tone of the narration.

The Bowfin Museum was well organized with free audioguide and along with the Pacific Air Museum plays second fiddle to the Arizona and Missouri exhibits.

It is a VERY long day to see everything in detail in less than 9 hours. We bought the 2 day pass that added about $15 to cost of the single day visit but allowed us the luxury splitting our visit to 2 half days.

Parking Tip - arrive before 10.30 am, if all 4 lots are full there are a few spots on the road in front of the yacht marina located at the far end of the road.

Note either lock all bags including ladies handbags in the trunk of your car or you will be required to check them in supervised storage.

“Excellent history lesson”
Reviewed February 5, 2012

Took the bus from Waikiki. The theatre presentation is well balanced and the trip out to the USS Arizona brings home the horrows of war.
