I was a little apprehensive about Honolulu because many do not like how congested the city is with traffic & people. This is true, but the home we rented with Maly made our trip absolutely wonderful!! This house is located about 15 minutes from Wakiki Beach up in the residential area. We had a beautiful view of the city, Diamond Head, the mountains & the ocean with free parking. The house is newly renovated & is just perfect with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & a large kitchen. Maly made sure we had everything we needed & was always quick to respond! She was very friendly & helpful in every way! The neighborhood walks were fantastic & a great workout with the winding streets with such beautiful plants, flowers, trees & houses to admire! The island is small so we did lots of different adventures with not much driving compared to Kona where we had to drive 31/2 hours one way to Rainbow Falls in Hilo.We did 3 great hikes with 2 waterfalls not far from our home. Bring bug spray to rainforests! Manoa Waterfall was my favorite! Totally enchanting & breathtaking!! We went to Lulumahu Falls but took the wrong trial to the falls & got lost. I was really scared in the thick, thick trees. Took us (my husband & 4 adult kids) an hour to get out so make sure not to take path to your left but towards the right through an old fenced in area that leads to steps. We never thought twice of our entrance & couldn't believe it wasn't marked! There were red ribbons in the trees so we thought it must be fine. Farmer's Market is nice on Sat mornings but China Town is super cheap & has a market. I got a manicure & pedicure for $30 total & was good! Church is a must in Hawaii & we worshipped at Hope Chapel at Waikiki. Love the ukuleles for praise music & the pastor was such a great representation of REAL Christianity. We did Polynesian Cultural Center for a day. It was interesting & a cultural experience. The Ha: Breath of Life show is absolutely spectacular!!! We did Pearl Harbor which is a must. We called every morning to get tickets to the USS Arizona & finally got some on our 5th day. You must call by 6:50 am because the free 300 daily tickets go in 15 minutes. Some operators are helpful, others hang up. Very frustrating & we thought we might not be able to get tickets so very thankful we finally did! Hanauma Bay is a must for snorkelers & the beauty of this bay is unforgettable!! An even better snorkeling beach is Shark's Cove near North Shore but wear water shoes because it is very rocky but worth it!! So many fish!!! Electric Beach is another great snorkel beach! We saved a ton of money having our own kitchen. Food is reasonable at SAMs Club & Walmart. I cannot say enough how much our family loved this trip! Everything was a taste of heaven!!
