My oldest son, husband and I walked to the restaurant after hiking Diamond Head...it was downhill from the park, and not too bad a walk. We got there about 10:30 am and there were several tables open of the seven tables, total, in front of the restaurant. There's really nowhere else to sit if no table is available, so plan on the possibility of doing take-out. This is strictly a no frills, casual, eat at picnic tables on the sidewalk type of place, but the food is very good. You order at the outside window...I ordered coconut pancakes...get the large stack of 3 or several orders...heaven. There is a small market inside selling to-go containers, drinks and baked goods. We bought banana, blueberry and cranberry scones to go, to eat before our flight the next morning...they were very moist and delicious. After eating, we walked back to the Outrigger on the Beach...it was a walk, but I had to work off those pancakes!

Stopped here before making the climb up Diamond Head and boy were we glad we did. Inexpensive local cuisine! We had the ahi and char siu pork sandwiches and the honey lemonade and plantation tea. Everything was perfect for lunch!

They have 2 tables to eat outside. Attached to the market.

Extremely friendly and the surf and turf was a good variety of meats - grilled ahi, pork char siu, grilled chicken and juicy plump shrimps.

Lacking veggies we got the grilled side veggies which were squash eggplant peppers onions. Was ok but $7 was a bit steep.

Overall, was good take out but wasn't amazing.

Would give them a 3.5/5

Definitely one of the best hawaiian BBQ - either takeout or wait for the 4 tables outside the market shop.

August 2012 Sunday lunch. Great place to stop for lunch after a Diamond Head hike. It is located on the road back to Waikiki. Gourmet plate lunches for about $11. Best part is the large selection of great desserts starting at about $3.50. Picnic tables in the parking lot. Small parking lot. Lunch for two with colas and dessert cost us $40.
