Brian and Deborah were great hosts, making sure the rental process was easy and efficient. . The house in Rio Rico is set in the foothills of the lovely Santa Rita mountain range and the Madero Canyon, and is in the Coronado National Forest. Hiking trails are close, roads and frontage roads abound for biking, The house is accommodating with a nice layout and is comfortable for a week to a months stay. The artistic village of Tubac is fifteen minutes away to the north and Rio Rico is the same distance southward. Great day trips are drives to Tucson, Patagonia, Tombstone, Nogales and the quaint unusual old mining town of Bisbee. Hiking is everywhere at all levels. Trails are marked and the parks are run very well. Good traditional restaurants are in Rio Rico, with more upper scale eateries in Tubac. The Volkmans were very good at supplying the house with nearly everything needed for a stay. Any groceries needed are in Rio Rico and Tubac. Nogales has a Walmart. Our trip was a nice getaway, with the Volkman house offering newer adobe construction in a sprawling desert type neighborhood. I would highly recommend this house for anyone who loves the desert, mountains, hiking, biking and just for getting away. We will use this rental again soon!
