Unfortunately, due to work and life obligations, I was unable to attend the Thursday night beer tasting at Christie's for the last several weeks. However, I was finally able to get back in the swing and, as I expected, they haven't missed a beat. The brewery of the night was Founder's Brewery and they showcased 4 of the brewery's finest. Although the beer was unique and flavorful, it was overshadowed by Chef Charlie Hamilton's cuisine. Each course was extremely well executed, but the smoked rabbit terrine and the wagyu beef carpaccio are dishes that I will go to bed dreaming about. They were passionately prepared and everyone at the tasting was in complete euphoria once they tasted both dishes. And, to end the meal, the golden fried, nutella stuffed banana with vanilla bean ice cream and caramel made me wishing these tastings were held every night. In addition, the GM, Kat, was her typical self and conveyed her love of beer and food by explaining each pairing intelligently and passionately. Overall, another successful tasting and looking forward to what next week has to offer.
