This was my second stay here for a girls getaway trip - we were upstairs on 3rd floor prev., but this time stayed on two adjoining ground floor rooms (doors went out to a shared mini patio). The Inn is lovely and very well maintained. Beds are super comfy. Food ----- wow! Huge breakfast AND a 3 pm tea with two savory dishes and several sweets. Except for the fact that I HAD to eat lobster at a restaurant while in Newport, we seriously could have gotten by just fine on the food provided during our stay. Location is right in the midst of lots of shopping and restaurants, and there is onsite parking. Spas and Mansion tours are a short drive away. Friendly staff had helpful information on restaurants and local attractions.
Considering that it was late April for our stay, we were very fortunate to get sunny, warm days and the nights were a bit chilly. Flowering trees, etc made the area esp. pretty. This trip was much delayed from the week Hurricane Sandy came through, and we had no difficulties moving our reservation.More
