“Hidden gem!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

This is a wonderful hidden treasure slightly off the beaten path. The fish was excellent, I had a fantastic fresh flounder with a uniquely delicious risotto. Service was great and atmosphere was a mix between the "Cheers" bar and a nice restaurant all at reasonable prices. We liked it so much we went back Monday night but that is their day of rest. Loved this place.

“Great last night in newport”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

Had a really nice meal here our last night in Newport; wanted something outside the hustle&bustle of the wharf on Saturday night, and this fit the bill. Enjoyed the piano player, atmosphere was welcoming, food was great -- would definitely recommend ---

“Fabulous meal in a charming neighborhood gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

We loved this place. Fabulous setting in lovely neighborhood of "the point.the restaurant is in a beautifully restored home. A pianist played during dinner.the squash bisque was delectable. The salad had a great garic dressing with fresh cheese. The flounder was and crispy . Fresh. The pepper sauce fabulous - nicely spiced.
And it was reasonably priced.
We will definitely return!!

“This restaurant is always at the top of our list!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

This restaurant is always at the top of our list. The food is always consistently amazing and the charming atmosphere is lovely. Slightly off the beaten path, tucked away in a historical neighborhood, so you don't have to compete with busy downtown crowds. We are locals and will continue to recommend to anyone looking for a great meal in our beautiful city!

“Charming restaurant off the beaten path”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013

The Newport-resident couple with whom we went to dinner recommended this restaurant both for the food and for the fact that it was located in a non-touristy area - a distinct plus on an early August week-night. All four in our party found their meals delicious, and reasonably priced. The selection was varied, and included not only a regular menu but also a sheet of daily specials along with a prix-fixe option of three courses and a glass of wine for $22. The atmosphere of the converted old house is charming. We were the first guests to arrive at 6:30 p.m. on a Wednesday, but the place was busy by the time we left at 8:15. We will definitely recommend this restaurant highly, but would be remiss if we did not mention two small problems. 1) The online menu is badly outdated. It bore little resemblance to the actual menu. The waitress told us she thinks it has not changed in a number of years. 2) When our moderately-sized bread basket was empty we asked for a refill but were informed there would be a surcharge of $2.50. None of us can recall that ever happening in any other "fine dining"-type restaurant we have frequented. Although the amount of the charge is not significant, the principle rankled. I would not have expected such an elegant restaurant to be so penurious. I put this into the same category as another annoying charge I have seen elsewhere; namely, that of charging a fee to share a plate. We hope the management will reconsider this irritating practice in the future.
