The Vanderbilt Grace is one of our favorite hotels. They set a high bar when we were here last year and this trip met or exceeded our expectations. The service is world class and the location in Newport allows walking to the bars and restaurants on and around Thames Street. Food at breakfast and dinner was memorable and well priced. We look forward to going back to the Vanderbilt Grace hotel.

My husband and I booked our three day wedding celebration at the Vanderbilt Grace.
We searched throughout New England for the perfect venue - a historic, inviting, intimate hotel that could accommodate 50 of our closest friends and family. We immediately fell in love with the Vanderbilt Grace when we visited for the first time in the Spring of 2016. Earlier this month (Nov 2016), the hotel and its entire staff delivered the most beautiful experience for our guests and accommodated us at every request. I may still have a difficult time expressing my gratitude. Words simply do not convey our gratefulness. We have a lifetime of incredible memories - in large part due to the service, flexibility, talent and genuine thoughtfulness of the hotel's entire team.

We stayed overnight a total of five nights in the Grace Suite. Many of our guests and family stayed at the hotel as well. All our accommodations were perfectly suited to each person in staying the room(s). Everyone loved the historic nature of the building, its story and all the details. Each room is well appointed and very spacious. The beds are incredibly comfortable.

Each meal we ate in the dining room and in the Conservatory was wonderful. The service was excellent, and the dining team was efficient and very friendly. We loved getting to know everyone and truly feeling like we were home. Marcel was a pleasure to be around each morning and took wonderful care of us.

Bonus: The Conservatory has a lovely view of Trinity Church in Queen Anne Square. We held our ceremony here. It was great to have it in our view the entire weekend. You do hear the church bells throughout the night, and day - but we welcomed the recognition. It added to the charm of the location, and its history.

The front desk and spa services teams were all eager to ensure we had everything we needed, at times, before we even asked. From milk in the mornings for coffee to stoking the fire in the Christie Room and unloading an amazing truck load of items, everything was perfectly attended to.

Our guests are still sending us notes thanking us for such a wonderful weekend full of events. We took over the first floor suites, which allowed for us to also use the Christie Room to entertain. Friday evening, we hosted a low key welcome party, followed by our cocktail hour and reception in the dining room and a brunch on Sunday. Not only did the Grace Team ensure everything was perfectly organized and set up, they worked with all our professionals and assisted them with every need. Both my husband and I are in the hospitality industry and we made several requests that were out of the normal routine. We can say we were thrilled they accepted all our requests, and as mentioned before, they delivered a perfect event, tailored to us.

I cried (happily) for days trying to say thank you. From the very bottom of our hearts, we thank you - Marcel, Marco, Maureen, Adrienne, Simion, Allison, Halie, Kevin, Alex and Jocelyn (and I know I cannot remember everyone!) for your sincere and gracious hospitality. The Vanderbilt Grace will always be part of our family. See you again, for sure!

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights and could not have enjoyed our stayed anymore.
Location is the best and hotel was as good as it gets. We're exp travelers and have stayed at Mandarin Orientals, Langham in Chicago, etc. This is right there with them as far as luxury. But the staff is where they really stand out. Thanks to Paul, Marco, Kevin and especially Karla for everything!

Loved this hotel. Was one of 5 hotels we stayed at in a road trip over New England and this was our favourite.

Fantastically friendly and helpful staff in a brilliantly appointed hotel. Right in the centre of Newport so a great spot for exploring his great little town. Has a great roof terrace for enjoying a sundowner overlooking the harbour and there is an ace snooker room too.

Rooms we're super spacious, we had a double suite with a divinely comfortable bed and a really top rate finish to the rooms.

Couldn't fault the hotel in anyway I have to say, from the valet to the checkout they were on the money. Would return in a heartbeat.

This hotel is right in the heart of Newport-literally minutes from the restaurants and shopping. Staff is very friendly and helpful and on point. We stayed in the master junior suite which was a beautiful room. In fact, more roomy that it appears on their website. Very clean with 2 beautiful bathrooms. My husband thought the shower was a 5 star. The hotel as a whole is beautiful. We just had 2 issues: one being the air quality in the room. Not sure if it was the heating system or the room itself given that it is quite an old building. We couldn't wait to get out in the fresh air after a night of sleeping in the room. The other issue was the food. We ate there Friday for dinner and on Sunday for breakfast. Both meals very underwhelming. But neither issue would keep us from staying there again, especially with there being so many restaurants to choose from right outside your door.
