My husband and I stayed at a B&B in the area in July. We had been Newport several times and decided to try different moderately priced local restaurants. After reading the reviews provided by Trip Advisor we selected the Corner Café. The restaurant is popular, small and very noisy and there is a line to get in because of this however, the wait was not long. We were told 45 minutes and were seated in half that time.
We arrived in time for lunch My husband decided on a hamburger with fresh avocado, roasted red peppers, gorgonzola cheese, and other toppings. The roll was on a tasty roll and cooked the way he requested it. I ordered breakfast food. The eggs were fantastic mixed with Kale, onions and other vegetables. Red potato home fries were also good in addition to a grilled Portuguese roll. The meal was as others reported..... Excellent. The servers were nice and polite but extremely busy and never came back to refill drinks or check on the meal... That was the only small issue... The food shined. If you are looking for a moderately priced, local eatery, you can't go wrong with this choice... Also note; Corner Café also serves dinner and the specials look appetizing. Enjoy!
