Small place off of Broadway. They keep it simple. burgers, fries, hot dogs and beer. What else is there??? The bacon cheese burger with their sauce needs nothing else!! And they use THICK bacon!!! No whimpy slices but a nice thick piece that you can taste!! They make....and I mean MAKE...their own hot dogs!! Basic dog $ 3.50...add ons extra. They also make their own mustard and hand cut the fries right there!!! So...when in Newport, make a stop. You'll love it!!

My family recently had the pleasure of dining at Mission. The space is tiny. It has a long counter down the center (actually an old door!) with high stool (backless) seating on each side. A similar long counter on one wall with one round table for 6. The burgers are phenomenal. We also had the falafel, fries and kiddos had the long grilled hot dogs. An interesting selection of off-beat beers and soft drinks round out the menu. This is not fine dining, but rather a good reliable burger joint. It's not a place you linger over a fine glass of wine but rather your go-to place for a solid burger with friends or the kids. You'll leave satisfied and it won't break the bank.

About $10 for a great hotdog, soda, and french fries. Is that expensive? Maybe. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY. Delicious homemade hotdog was very juicy, and the addition of ketchup, a pickle, sweet relish, and celery salt turned it into a truly fantastic mess.

Fries were outstanding--pretty thick cut which enabled them to be really crunchy on the outside and still soft once you bit through their delicious crust.

My friends had the hamburgers--they looked fantastically pink on the inside.

I'll be back there this weekend.

While not off the beaten trail, the restaurant is located about a block off the main drag. Open seating--mostly on stools. Probably not a great place for anyone requiring a booster/car seat in terms of convenience. The amazing taste of their hotdogs would probably be wasted on my toddler anyway.

The Mission sign is pretty subdued, so keep your eyes peeled as you walk up Marlborough from most of the parking--it'll be on your right.

A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for! The taste exceeded the expectation of my taste buds! Juicy, drippy, messy burger topped with thick sliced smoked bacon & aged cheddar made for one spectacular lunch! If you can deal with the ordeal of finding a Newport parking space, you won't be disappointed in your visit to Mission! Promise!

You've got Mission! The chefs and front-of-house staff behind Thames Street Kitchen (TSK), Newport's best restaurant, decided to open a place serving burgers and hot dogs. The result is the best burger around, terrific hot dogs and French fries so good they will make you weak in the knees. Even the vegetarians get their due, with an excellent falafel pita sandwich.

This is a wonderful spot for lunch and fine for an informal dinner, too. It's on my short list of the top five places to eat in Newport.
