We did not relish waiting for a table with the rest of the world. We wandered a little away from the crowd and came upon @ The Deck. We walked right in and chose our table. We were greeted right away and our drinks arrived timely. They do serve drinks in plastic but the drafts were nice and cold. Their arugula salad with seared tuna was Awesome! We weren't rushed and were able to enjoy the beautiful weather and the water view.

We attended @ The Deck for a bachelorette party, along with easily 5 other bridal groups, on Saturday. We sat under the tent right by the water. Beautiful views! Unfortunately, that’s the best I can say about the place. EVERYTHING took forever to get. The drinks were good, but pricey, and the food was a huge disappointment. It was a fun atmosphere until they let so many people in that you couldn’t move. The live entertainment was kind of fun. Just some guys strumming guitars. They do have corn hole, large beer pong, and an oversized Jenga. If I went again it would be early and probably just for drinks.

My wife and I did our Welcome/Rehearsal Dinner at Riptide (the enclosed area across from @ The Deck). Since the entire area is owned/operated by the same people, their staff were able to be flexible in meeting our needs. We were looking for a cool, waterfront venue for the 4th of July fireworks (the wedding was the next day). Since all the people were coming from out of town, we invited them all to this event. We had about 90 people.

Let me say, Tami and Lee (the two main points of contact we had during the planning and execution of our event) were FANTASTIC. Tami can be a bit tough to nail down sometimes, but a quick text and she's usually responsive. These two were incredibly supportive throughout the planning and worked with us to meet the various needs of our guests (kids who don't eat seafood, shellfish allergies, etc., etc.). It also doesn't hurt that the food was fantastic. We opted for a clams, mussels, pulled pork, pork loin, corn, and a variety of desserts. Everything was great. It is worth noting that the mussels we received were NOT the same as their famous mussel appetizer, but I bet if you asked they could do it. Honestly, everything was so great that I didn't really miss them.

The bartenders were also very much on point, and the folks who stuck around after the fireworks got to dance their butts off when the venue(s) went from private to public (around 10-10:30pm).

All in all, if I could rate this place higher than a 5 I would do it in a heartbeat. This event was certainly a highlight of our week. Even if you don't do an event there, you should at least go and have lunch/dinner there... its tasty :)

We came on a whim for lunch, and probably should have done better research. We were seated outside, which is fine, but it had a dive bar feel to it. There was reggae music blasting and a bunch of kids working. Drinks were served in plastic solo cups. My husbands fish sandwich was frozen. He said it tasted like a filet o fish from McDs. My tuna and arugula salad was good though. I would stick with salad if you go.

Newport has a handful of restaurants on the water where you can dine and/or have a few cocktails, and this is one of them. The food is average at best, service is pretty good so its lower on our choice list. Cleanliness is average. Food is average. Comfort is average...but its on the water. If all you want is a few drinks, this is a good spot
