We are long-time owners and can vouch for the place being built in the late nineties (we bought new in '99). The location is tops in Newport, and it trades well on RCI now that they are back to Silver Crown (formerly Gold Crown but had some bad years under Fairfield management). It is definitely in need of a "soft goods" upgrade, which I am happy to hear is happening this fall. My only real complaint this time is the loud beeping from both elevators as they pass through every floor. The sound is so piercing you can hear them halfway down the hall. Our room was unfortunately placed right next to the elevator, so I heard a steady stream of beeping whenever I was in there. I imagine every room within 50 ft of them has the same issue. Hopefully management will read this and get the elevator engineers in there to turn off those useless noisemakers.

Room Tip: ask for a room far away from the elevator! (and on the highest floor available, facing the harbor)

One of the best in Newport, great location, front desk is always helpful and other staff around hotel very friendly. As others have mentioned, it is a timeshare, plan accordingly. All rooms are 2b/r (there are two 3 b/r) and can comfortably sleep 6. Most of the other timeshare properties in Newport are not updated, this one is. It is also better than most hotels too!

First off, I don't understand why people compare this to a hotel stay; it's a timeshare property and should be rated as such. That being said, we were very pleased with our one week stay. Sure, the furniture and accents within the unit were tired( though we understand they will be completely updated later this fall), but it was clean and well equipped. The pools were great and you could check out as many fluffy towels as you liked. The grounds are very nice and there are several gas grills for guests use. Many people took advantage of the fresh lobsters for sale across the street, as we observed families enjoying lobster dinners at the picnic tables. Resort staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our entire stay. The location is fabulous for touring around the city; you can walk to all the great restaurants, shopping and harbor cruises. There are plenty of activities for those with young children and a small movie theatre for rainy days/nights. Check in and out was quick and efficient and we were provided with a booklet for savings throughout the city. Other than the "retro" furnishings we didn't find fault with anything and the beds were plenty comfortable!

Nicely situated hotel with clean rooms, above average facilities and pleasant staff. We used this as a jump-off point to Newport activities. We shared a timeshare unit with my In-laws. We had a two bedroom, 2 bath with a full kitchen.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the water.

We stayed for 5 days and found the facility dirty and noisy. In our unit you could hear every toilet flush and conversation around us. The furnishing were dirty and worn, and carpeting needed to be replaced. One of our kids was bitten by something in our unit and management was not helpful to rectify the problem. I have traveled for many decades and this is the first time I strongly not to spend your time and money here.

We shared a timeshare unit with my In-laws. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a full kitchen. The room comfortably accommodated 4 adults and 2 children(ages 9 and 11). The resort and room was very clean and the staff was always helpful and friendly. There are two pools, one pool is the indoor/outdoor pool with a slide and two hot tubs with waterfalls. The other pool is the seasonal pool which is located near the indoor/outdoor pool. Gas grills are available near the pool. The resort has a 30 seat movie theater which shows two movies a day, one movie is rated G the other movie is PG or R, there is no cost and the popcorn is free too! There is free coffee in the lobby in the morning and the washers and dryers are also free. The WI-Fi can get a little slow due to so many people using it, it's also free.
The resort is within walking distance of almost all of Newport. There is a lobster and crab shack across the street where you can buy live lobster and crab and either grill them or cook them in your room. We would definitely stay here again.

This resort is a wonderful spot for a family vacation. This was our second year staying in the same townhouse accomodation. These are new townhomes and they offer plenty of space for all family members to enjoy and yet have their privacy.

Our unit consisted of 3 bedrooms, two full baths, a well appointed kitchen area,& dining area. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV and another flat screen in the living room area. The living room also has a queen size sleeper sofa. The unit also has a washer & dryer with detergent provided.

The resort has 2 pools, one of which has an indoor/outdoor component. There are plenty of lounge chairs & umbrella tables around the pool area. Pool towels are plentiful and the pool area is immaculate.

All of the resort staff are friendly and very helpful. A request for a few additional supplies was responded to very quickly.

The resort is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We walked across the street to the marina and bought fresh lobsters right off the lobster boats and cooked them in the condo. What a fun treat!

As an owner at this resort, I was not happy with the badly stained carpeting in the living room area. I was assured that the carpet would be cleaned before another family was booked in this townhome.

We are looking forward to our next stay here with our family.

Room Tip: Try to get a townhhouse accomodation. the main building is older and does not offer the privacy of...
