Description: At Brick Alley Pub we have it all: "pub style" comfort food to modern multicultural cuisine all served with genuine down-home hospitality. Like America itself, Brick Alley is one big melting pot of ethnicities, flavors, and fun. If you are looking for stiff, over the top formal service with small portions of over-priced food, we are not that place. After more than 30 years as one of Rhode Island's most popular restaurants with locals and tourists alike, the Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant has earned landmark status. Located at 140 Thames Street across from the Brick Market Place in Downtown Newport the Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant offers a warm and cozy fireplace in the winter and comfortably air-conditioned dining rooms in the summer. The Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant specializes in a blend of flavorful steaks, fresh local seafood, pastas, and seasonal specials. Begin your dinner with a selection from our cocktail menu or choose a wine from our extensive wine list. This wine list features over 250 different vintages and has received the Wine Spectator Award for Excellence. Open for lunch and dinner, Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant accepts reservations and offers an upstairs function room that can accommodate up to 170 people. The Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant has received favorable reviews from countless local and national publications including: The Providence Journal, Travel-Holiday, Ford Times, Rhode Island Monthly, and Newport Life Magazine. In addition, Jameson Irish Whiskey bestowed the restaurant with their "Best Irish Coffee Award" for three consecutive years and inducted the Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant into their Hall of Fame. Brick Alley has also been featured on The Food Network and is a favorite of Boston's Phantom Gourmet.

What a great place to go especially for a family with young children! Portions are great and service was wonderful and attentive. Kids loved it and asked when we were coming back!

Definitely recommend to all!

When visiting Newport we dined at Tripadvisor rated places and this was voted very high. What a busy restaurant...we waited for 35 minutes but it was so worth it. The hamburgers were terrific. The service was excellent and very friendly. We would definitely go back.

Although Brick Alley Pub has some excellent reviews (and because of that we ended up having lunch there today), I really wasn't expecting all that much. Especially because the interior is bordering on a TGI Fridays/Hard Rock Cafe sort of ambiance that screams "tourist trap." But the food was EXCELLENT. Best Jambalaya I've ever tasted, and my husband's Ahi Tuna was quite good too. Our server, Kelsey, was attentive, informative, and friendly, and the price was just right. What more could one want? I'd been thinking as well this would be a lunch-only place but it would in fact be a great choice for dinner as well -- especially if, like me, you have no patience for pretense. If you're in Newport -- don't miss it!!!

Thank you for visiting Brick Alley, and for taking the time to write a review. I appreciate you giving us the nod over TGI FRI. The difference between their decor and ours is that ours is authentic. Noticed you are from Prov. we just started to carry Revival Stout on tap. Hope to see you all again soon. have a safe and happy new year.

Sat at the bar and had 3 different bartenders/barbacks attending to us and everyone else at the bar (and service bar) on a busy evening. Each of them couldn't have been more friendly, accommodating and hospitable. Drinks were excellent and the harvest salad followed by gourmet burgers were delicious. We will return!

TripAdvisor reviews led us to Brick Alley after we checked out other places to eat on Thames St.

It's a pub-- lots of wood, exposed brick, and decorated with curios and old stuff. If it weren't so authentic, it would surely have been a chain restaurant.

But this place is GOOD. While there was no indication outside, when we asked about Gluten-Free choices, our server returned with a detailed, printed Gluten-Free menu.

(NOTE TO MANAGER: If there had been any indication, outside, of your attention to Gluten-Free diners, we'd have RUN into Brick Alley 30 minutes earlier.)

On the front of the menu, a large gold and red "Satisfaction Guaranteed" seal is prominently featured, and elaborates on how devoted Brick Alley is to "100% Total Guest Satisfaction." It's pretty impressive-- and reassuring.

We didn't come close to invoking the guarantee. Service was excellent. Brick Alley features an original, varied, and extensive menu, even at lunch, and every one of our dishes (we ordered way too much ) was a hit. And large portions.
