Stopped by this bakery and picked up 4 cupcakes( two chocolate, 2 vanilla) and a loaf of olive bread. First and last time we will stop here. The bread was very stale and dry,and had about 3 olives in the whole loaf. The cupcakes were dry also, not a very good treat for a high price. I should have made my own.

We came to pick up breakfast for a family of 4.
The selection is very small. At 9 AM on Sunday the chocolate croissants were sold out.
The croissants ($2.50) are not really croissants. They are not flaky, and do not appear to be folded. They are more like butter rolls. I don't believe that French methods are employed at this Provencal bakery.
We left with two croissants that we didn't finish and told the kids to go out for breakfast.

The food at Provencal was pretty good. The only thing was the service. There was usually only one waitress on duty, and she was either always chatting in the kitchen, or serving. The food took a while for a little café. We were regular customers when we are in the area, but after these last few experiences, maybe not as often.

There are far too few quality bakeries that have a lunch counter serving fresh and interesting sandwiches. You can watch the production in the back while you wait to chose pastry and baked goods from a long display case. The staff, especially Karen, is wonderful. Always a smile and a bubbly personality, you don't find that too often. Breakfast sandwiches are delicious as they are made on real bread, not like many sandwich or breakfast spots. They also provide breads to various restaurants in the area as well. Good Job!

Provençal Bakery is a great little cafe for take out or dining in! Friendly staff who are attentive & efficient make your visit a pleasure! Their baked goods are fresh & too delicious for words. Portuguese Kale soup is a favorite as is their Quinoa & homade chicken salad.
