We first saw this lighthouse while on the Gansett Cruise and decided to have a picnic lunch there. Free parking and a nice path to walk to it. We set purr blanket out on the rocks for a picnic lunch & walked on the rocks with the kids. We found shells and more. I think I have found my new peaceful spot in Rhode Island!

When you visit Newport, be sure to break away for an afternoon, outdoor cocktail on The Lawn at the Castle Hill Inn. Views of Jamestown and Newport Bay are exceptional from here. Take a short walk out to the lighthouse and climb the rocks for great photos and pure enjoyment of the scenic view.

I loved going to see the lighthouse, and Castle Hill Inn is right there so afterwards its fun to go grab a cocktail at their restaurant. Such a beautiful, relaxing setting.

This lighthouse is a short easy walk from the Castle Hill Inn parking lot but not much to see. It's small and not too impressive.

You can get on the grounds for free by letting the guard know that you are visiting the lighthouse. We didn't see the interior but the exterior is charming. You can feel the breeze and hear the sound of fog horns. Although it is a small attraction - if you like lighthouses - it makes for a nice small trip.
