Gorgeous house and grounds. A bit pricy at $25 but certainly worth a visit if you love old homes, or are interested in Doris Duke.

A lovely house, a suitably grand collection of antiques and art, good tour guides, and a really spectacular piece of land. As dog owners ourselves, we especially appreciated the lived-in upholstery in the sun room. Some day the conservators will have to re-create that!

WE have done most of the house tours in Newport this house by far was my favorite!!!! Loved how they keep it as Doris Duke left it on her last trip.

Lovely location. An older gentlemen who is incredibly passionate for Doris Duke gave an excellent and informative tour. Beautiful artwork abounds!!! Brush up on your history, as this guide likes to quiz the tourists. Linger after and meander the grounds . A lovely thing to do in Newport .

Unlike the other houses, this particular mansion tour had a tour guide. The house was left as is when Doris Duke passed on. The house itself sits on a gorgeous property overlooking the water. The tour guide was good as she answered additional questions, but some of the rooms remain closed. This is a real home with some over the top decorating. A bit different from the grand mansions in Newport, but still opulent and over the top.
