We thoroughly enjoyed our sunset cruise on Madeleine yacht. The views out at sea are unforgettable. Staff was prompt and friendly in their responses to my emails prior to my arrival and the staff on deck is young and attentive. It gets rather chilly when the sun sets so be sure to bring a thick windbreaker, even in June.

Had a wonderful 1.5 hour afternoon sail on the Schooner Madeleine! The kiosk is staffed with friendly folks who are happy to help you select a sail that will work for your schedule and describe the route. I chose the afternoon sail which went close to Castle Hill and back. Our captain was Pete and he was so friendly and accommodating. He let some folks steer the schooner so they could have their captain photo opportunity and he answered all of the questions we could throw at him about the area, where to go, what to do, about the boats, etc. I wish the tour could have been sailed closer to a few of the landmarks, but otherwise it was great. (Note: around town there are free maps of the area that have a $3 off coupon - which made the sail just $27 ...)

Captain Peter started sailing with us about 6 years ago or so and knows the area well. Next time your back in Newport,, perhaps you can try Rum Runner II for a more upclose view of the shoreline. RumRunner II was built in 1929 and can get into some plaaces other vessels including Madeleine cant get into. Where Madeleine is more for a reat sailing experiance, RumRunner II is more for upclose views along the shore and lots of historical information on the area. This was a lovely sunset cruise with informative narration. There were plenty of refreshments for all offered by a friendly crew. There were a lot of passengers so seating was tight and moving about difficult. But a sail you should not pass up.

Sunset is always so nice on the water and shouldnt be missed while in Newport. We decided at last minute to go on sailing trip. Crew was very informative and friendly. Sites were great and sailing smooth.

Im so glad you enjoyed your sail on Madeleine - it is a fun way to get out on the water, relax and enjoy the sights. Madeleine is a great sailing experiance and it so nice to hear baclk from our guests. Next time your up this way, you should try our other boat 1929 classic motor yacht RumRunner II. Lots of fun on the water but a completly different experiance than Madeleine.
