My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. It couldn't have been more perfect. I had read several reviews before making a reservation for the La Farge Perry. And, as expected, the beautiful front garden welcomes you to the inn, followed by a greeting from Jax, Midge and the famous chocolate chip macaroons!
We stayed in the Oliver Perry room.......a grand nautical theme! The bed was very comfortable, which Midge turned down before we returned from dinner (a nice touch!)The bathroom was spacious and bright.
Midge prepared a fabulous breakfast which included eggs, french toast brioche, jams, pastries and fruit. I was stuffed, but was thrilled that Midge handed us a goody bag of macaroons for our departure.
My husband and I stay in Newport for our anniversary every year and we will definitely return next June! We feel like we've discovered quite a gem!
Perfect location to downtown, never needed a car.

Room Tip: Call the inn and ask for description

We stayed at the La Farge Perry House for a wedding in Newport. The house is perfectly located. It is just a short walk downtown and a short walk to all of the mansions and the Cliff Walk.

We had to stay in two separate rooms because I had originally boooked for one night but we decided to stay for two. Midge and her staff made it incredibly easy for us to switch rooms and both the rooms were immaculate with very comfortable beds. The place is incredibly well taken care of and you can tell Midge cares a lot about the property and the people who stay there!

Midge's cooking every morning was delicious and the macaroons are some of the most amazing treats I have ever had. Beware, it is almost impossible to only eat one!

I would highly recommend this spot and would definitely go back! We hope to see Midge again as she helped make our stay in Newport an incredible one!

I and my mom got two 3rd floor rooms connected by a lovely bathroom. Very pleased. Recommend the place to anyone who appreciates new, comfy beds, egyptian cotton sheets, tastefully decorated, perfectly clean rooms, daily turn down service by friendly staff, fresh flowers & baked goods at every turn, and superb breakfasts served in a light filled dining room overlooking a lovely garden. The place is carpeted and QUIET, no creaky stairs or doors, no finicky plumbing. Windows open, screens are all intact, lamps work, TVs and DVD players all new. Wifi & mini fridge. Great common room w/ comfy sofa & TV/games & you can make yourself tea etc whenever you want. Resident manager Midge gives the place the feel of a home, and it's one of the cleanest, most friendly, comfortable B&Bs i've ever stayed in. Quiet residential neighborhood, on site parking & short walk to commercial area & public 'trolley' bus. Superb.

As this anniversary weekend was a gift from our children, we really weren't sure what to expect. First of all, this is a beautiful home inside and out with lovely gardens and flowers throughout .The home is filled with rich woods, a gorgeous staircase and lovely furniture, but what really put our experience at this B&B over the top was the charming and helpful Innkeeper, Midge! She immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable, showed us around the house and gave us tips of fun and interesting things to do in and around Newport. As the weekend progressed, Midge happily answered our many questions... and then there were the breakfasts!! Beautiful table settings, wonderful fresh fruit salad and scones with homemade jam! Yum! Her Brioche French Toast with fruit sauce was amazing!! All in all, staying at this lovely Inn greatly enhanced our Newport experience!

Room Tip: Admiral Perry room was nautical and beautiful!

Out visit to the La Farge Perry House was wonderful from beginning to end! Upon arrival we were greeted by Midge, the lovely innkeeper and her sweet and well mannered furry friend, Jax! As we walked in the door, i knew we had picked the most perfect place to stay!

All the rooms through out the house were lovely in size and decoration! We even got to stay in the room with the jacuzzi - that was amazing! I especially liked that there were 2 floors and none of the rooms were too close together, so you felt like you had some space between you and the other guests.

Food.I had no idea that Midge was such a renowned chef !The food was amazing! Every morning we were treated to freshly made blueberry scones, and each day she had a different special, banana pancakes, french toast with jam, and one of her specialties on Sunday's - Egg Benedict (which she prepared vegetarian style for me!). We so enjoyed our morning breakfasts. Midge shared with us wonderful stories of her becoming a chef, in New York, and eventually moving to Newport.

She knew all the best places to eat in town no matter what the style was, seafood, Mexican, Thai... She gave us great ideas on the best mansions to visit, even one i did not know about; Rough Point!

Every afternoon when we would return to the house from our days journey there were fresh chocolate chip macaroons as a snack - yum!

I can not say enough good things about our stay - it was really perfect! Midge is such a lovely person and really brings to life the La Farge Perry House! We look forward to going back in the Fall!

We spent Saturday night at La Farge Perry as a birthday celebration. We couldn't have been happier. The room was stunning. The chef and inn keeper (Midge) was incredibly helpful. The food was wonderful. It was a perfect weekend. We will certainly be back.

The house is beautiful and well kept and as people have mentioned Midge's breakfast is some of the best I've ever had.

If you walk past other inns you will see some of the older Newport homes are a little rickety and hard to maintain becuase of their age. This is not the case with this inn. The bedrooms are lavishly decorated in period art and comfy beds, 2-person jacuzzi's in some rooms and marble baths.

Very comfortable place to stay without being pretentious. Would definitely come back again, and again!
