The performers were energetic and clearly enjoy what they do which made them even more fun to watch. The skits were all created spontaneously based on audience suggestions. BYOB, (water and soda available there) have a couple of drinks and spend a couple of entertaining hours laughing out loud. A fun, affordable and different way to spend an evening out in Newport.

This group of young, talented people know their stuff. They entertain you with Improv comedy skits that are fast-moving and funny. They use suggestions from the audience in their skits and they will do really silly things. It's BYOB, although they also provide bottled water and hot cocoa/tea. They even have a piano player before the show starts. Shows are 2-3 nights per week (check their website for details). Tickets are $15.00 but I think they have a coupon on their website. You should call to reserve tickets. I have been 3 times and I will go back again. A fun night out with lots of laughs!

On a rainy Friday while on vacation in Newport, we caught the Bit Players at the Firehouse Theater. They are a live improv group that play in a converted Firehouse. The show was very funny and my family really enjoyed it. It’s BYOB and there is a liquor store across the street. Water and soft drinks are also offered in the theater. The house musicians were two young men on the sax and piano. They were very, very good. You need advance reservations if you go on Saturday night. They get a lot of birthdays, bachelorette parties, etc on the weekends. It was an inexpensive night out. and very well worth it.

PS - The sushi at the Newport Tokyo House next door was very good as well!!

2 hour improv show; inexpensive, 6 players and 2 great musicians. created another unique experience drawing suggestions for the skits from the audience. Ranks with similar theaters in NY and Chicago

Cast has worked together before but they still managed to break each other up with unexpected responses.

definitely a great evening and you can go 2 nights in a row and see a totally different show. Will go again next time we're here

1) Dinner on broadway.
- There's a bunch of great places to eat on broadway before the show (Salvation Cafe or Pour Judgement come to mind)

2) Catch the Bit Players at Firehouse
- I've been multiple times and always really enjoyed it. It's improv so it's always different and BYOB makes it a great "after dinner, before the bars, stop. And it's inexpensive! Get there early to get good seats though... and call ahead.

3) The show ends by 10, plenty of time to make your way downtown and hit the bar scene.
