“Truly wonderful B&B”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

My friend and I spent four lovely days at the Victorian Ladies--we were in Newport for a wedding--and found Harry, Cindy, and the rest of the staff to be warm and welcoming. Our room (Beatrice) was lovely, not to mention immaculate and spotlessly clean. We loved the tea and cookies in the afternoon, and breakfast each morning was a delicious treat. We loved our stay and hope to return some day.

Unfortunately we only spent one night here and would have loved to have spent at least 2 more. We were warmly greeted by Cindy and Harry upon arrival. Cindy gave us great information about the area and we were able to buy a cheaper voucher to visit the Mansions, which is well worth doing.
Our room was in the main house - The Caroline Room up on the top floor. The steps up there are quite step. Our room was full of all the usual goodies but had extra little touches that added to our stay; a face washer for make up removal, an emery board etc.
All of the rooms that we saw were decorated with beautiful antique furnishings.
Unfortunately we were not there for afternoon tea as we were too busy touring the Mansions but we expected this to have been lovely as our breakfast was superb. As previously mentioned in other reviews a well stocked cold buffet breakfast was on offer in the dining room of the main house. Cindy cooked us the best fluffy pancakes that filled us for the day.
Thank you Cindy and Harry for making our stay enjoyable.
Would definitely recommend this beautiful B&B to others.

The Victorian Ladies Inn is a nicely restored and well maintained property. II reflects the name in its Victorian period decor and furnishings. The Sophie Room is in the back building on the second floor; it is a quiet, cozy room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is good sized and well appointed. Breakfast is served in the main house. There is a cold buffet with yogurt, fruit and baked goods as well as a hot entree. The host, Harry, is friendly and warm.
While the inn is centrally located, it is a long walk to either the mansions or the harbor area.

Room Tip: The front door to the main house is very difficult to open and locked at all times. There are a lot...

What a wonderful find the Victorian Ladies Inn in Newport was. The rooms were beautiful and nicely decorated. The place was immaculate! I wish we had time to enjoy the outside garden area. The Innkeeper, Cindy, and the Owner were very personable and pleasant. Afternoon tea was a very nice surprise. The breakfast in the morning was so nice, we actually saw Cindy cooking it; we felt like family there. I highly recommend this Inn as a cozy, warm, and friendly place to stay.

We just completed a wonderful weekend in Newport. The inn is tastefully decorated and the staff and owners very friendly and accommodating. We were in Alfred on the second floor at the front and although you can here traffic it was not overpowering and we slept well. Breakfast was wonderful and varied. Plenty of cereal and yogurt options with nice bread followed by a hot dish each day. You can by your voucher for the mansions on site. We ate on Thames and on the wharf both only a 15 minute stroll from the inn. Arrive early as the parking lot is tight and though there is a spot for everyone, you don't want to be the last to arrive.

Room Tip: The main building is easier for breakfast but the kings are in another building a short 20 seconds a...

The new owners of this inn have made it a very warm and cozy place to be. I had been here once before, years ago, but did not stay in the main house. Glad I went back because it is a really comfortable and convenient inn to stay when coming in from the cold weather. The house is beautifully decorated in period furnishings that are also comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious so save room for the two courses. Afternoon tea and homemade cookies were appreciated after being out all day. The hosts are wonderfully friendly and helpful. I will be back when the weather is warmer and we can sit outside in the garden.

What a delightful inn! This is a wonderful place for a getaway. I came here with my husband, and our room was wonderful and very comfortable. The breakfast was incredible--probably among the best breakfasts I've had at any place. Everything was homemade and delicious. The innkeeper was super friendly, and Cindy was amazing!!! I had complimented her on these cookies that she had made for 4pm tea, and a week later she sent me the recipe for the cookies! Truly exemplary service and a wonderful inn--we will absolutely be staying here on our next trip to Newport.
