“Too Touristy”

Maybe this is your cup of tea, but I'm for a more authentic experience before the chain stores and souvenir shops took over. There is a lot more history, culture and beauty just off this street.

“Shops”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2014

Save Thames for a rainy day and hit the many cute shops, and don't expect to find a lot of tourist traps, there is plenty of local flair on Thames and should be explored while in Newport. Make an afternoon of it and enjoy.

“Everything You Need or Want”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2014

The area is filled with cute shops and plenty of restaurants to tempt any food choices and a range of prices. We stayed at the Marriott so we parked there and walked across the street. The area was lively and my family enjoyed walking around and going into the shops.

“Cute but nothing out of the ordinary”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2014

There are some cute shops but nothing that wouldn't see in other coastal tourist towns like Cape May, Carmel-by-the-Sea.

“Lively also in April”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2014

Weather permitting the street is worth a visit as most of the shops actually are open also in April. In neighbouring villages, almost everything is closed in April.
