this is where all the little shops that are fun to poke in are. It takes you down to the water too. shops are tucked in the tiniest places!

Great shops of all kinds. We only ate at one restaurant, Brick Alley which was very good, but there were lots of other restaurants as well.

Whether it's for a midday cup of chowder with a beer or a nightime of music and a good packed bar, you always end up on Thames Street. Clarke's is and always has been my favorite restaurant in Newport. Food is always fresh and jeans are the norm.

We enjoyed a quick trip to Newport, walking in and out of shops, eating, and staying on Lower Thames, within walking distance of everything.

We walked around, it was cold and while stores were open they
were not busy. I would recommend a visit to the Newport Winery.
There was a very nice tour and wine tasting as well as a souvenir wine glass and nice gift shop
