Thames St is one of my favorite spots to visit during the summer. The people don't bother you and you can just walk around or grab a drink, food or anything else that you desire. They have just about everything you could want. Coffee shops, pizza, ice cream, shopping, etc. Nice place to visit, especially in the warmer weather.

Lots and lots of stores, food, ice cream, entertainment. We had so much fun on this street and I enjoy all the stores no matter what they are selling. Its unique and its fun, its high priced and its low priced., Something for everyone!

Most visits to Newport include a tour on Memorial Blvd to see the mansions. Thames Street is more for foodies and those interested in walking the less croded areas of this special town. If that is you, then walk the walk.

Thames is a long long long street filled with many shops. There is a great variety of food, treats, touristy things and boutiquey things. The street itself has lots of character.

This is Newport not London, so they pronounce it "thames" using all of the "th" sound. A lively shopping and strutting area in the daytime, it transforms itself into the center of Newport night-life as well. Lovely outdoor cafe dining on the first several piers where you can get closer to the boats and ships, schooners and sloops.
